re: Star Wars Trilogy - 2004 DVD Changes

SO in Episode 3 as i assume most people know Obi-wan and Anakin are going to get in a big fight. Obi-Wan casts him into sometype of Lava, volcano, pit, where he is extremely disfigured, thus his need for the Suit. I think it is said that he(Anakin)'s more machine than man now, so i think the replacing him at the end of RotJ is perfectlly fine. and no one has seen episode 3 yet so many of our problems could be solved in it ok that all i need to say
need to defrag my brain.

So based on Eddie's thoughts, I bought the trilogy. I have not watched the films yet, but watching certain scenes in surround sounds was so FREAKING AWESOME.

And the documentary on the 4th disc leaves me speechless as it is chock full of footage and stories I had never seen or heard.

I am, however, very aggravated that there are no deleted scenes. Perhaps there aren't any--other than the one with Biggs and Luke in ANH. Where is it?

jrb, my young padawan, I too am in awe regarding the Empire of Dreams documentary...it brought back soo many wonderful memories of that summer in 1977!

I watched Star Wars aka 'A New Hope' and was struck by how simply amazing the print looked, I have never seen the film in such wonderous detail.

The major changes did not upset me as much as I feared, and the new Jabba looks much better, I still don't think that scene is needed, but it doesn't offend me like it did before..and the Obi-Wan/Vader duel is FINALLY cleaned up!

Empire and Jedi this weekend, ah, I am such a big nerd, but really, the DVD's of the trilogy deliver the goods...I mean the commericals for the Kenner action figures were worth the purchase price alone!

Eddie - I saw New Hope 12 times the week it came out - for a teenage boy who hated his life, Luke was the next best thing to finding god.

Me too DGrant!

While my Momma is a bit crazy, my Dad is the greatest, he is such a guys guy, and to have such a demented child like me as a son had to be a shock, but he's always been my biggest fan, seeing Star Wars with him that opening weekend, before all the mania started is still one of my happiest memories...

As the theater darkened and the John Williams much blared out of the speakers, I think we *both* knew life would NEVER be the same, after it ended and the light came back on I turned to my Pop and asked, "Can we stay and see it again?!"..and he smiled and said, "Hell yeah!"

Eddie - good for you! I'll try not to be jealous re: Star Wars Trilogy - 2004 DVD Changes Let's just say I was in the theatre to avoid my father. I would have given ANYTHING to get my hands on a light sabre!

You know what's killing me right now?

I have the DVD's sitting in a drawer at work. Cause it's for my boyfriend...for Christmas. It's killing me.

We are planning, however, the week after Xmas to choose a day, get completely stoned and watch all three in a row.

F*ckin' A, boys! I cannot WAIT!

One night back east, we enjoyed some of nature's finest fungi and saw all three PLUS 2001 on a big screen in an all-night attraction. One of the best nights of my life re: Star Wars Trilogy - 2004 DVD Changes

It certainly was, Robbie - but not til it was all over and we played out our 'Luke and Han get captured' fantasies.

Robbie - as I understand it, that means your boyfriend gets to get eaten alive for eternity. Do I have that right?
