I'm sure the two of them will have a lovely honeymoon, painting each others moist supple flesh with various kinds of syrups, chocolates and other edible goodness.

You know, Star is infamously a big cigar afficianado. I think she even graced the cover of the magazine with that moniker.
So now I can't get the image outta my head of her chewin' on a stogie, wearing edible briefs.
As for Miss Thing's squeeze-ette, Al, he'll watch her puff until it's just ash, then leave the cigar butt (bizarre, but, I'm joking.)

How is this for a visual then:
Star clad only in edible undies, a stogie in her mouth, and Payless shoes on her feet...

Liz Smith is being quite democratic here (love the end line):
NOT SINCE Liza Minnelli and David Gest has there been an intended wed ding spectacle quite like the one coming this weekend for "The View's" Star Jones and her fiancé Al Reynolds. Today, luncheon at Saks for the bride-to-be and her bridesmaids and family . . . tomorrow, a rehearsal dinner at Denise Rich's house . . . and on Saturday, you might want to avoid Park Avenue, because the wedding starts at St. Bartholomew's at 5:30 p.m, then segues to the Waldorf-Astoria lobby for cocktails with a cast of thousands in the ballroom for dinner. But I'm predicting a happy ending for Star and Al because each has what the other wants.

Oh Jimmcf, this is the first honest-to-God LOL I've had since the election (hey, 'been a looong week and a half.) Invoking Gest and Minelli would suffice, but "...each has what the other wants..." is perhaps the best bit of double entendre I've read in a decade.
Don't miss the couple's Sweeps-timed be-in on THE VIEW today. Star is decked out like she's in the Ice Capades. And wait till you see the line-up of Groomsmen (!) What a bachelor party!

And from today's Post:
CELEBS HAVE A STAR IN THEIR 'BUYS'
By TODD VENEZIA and JENNIFER FERMINO
November 12, 2004 -- Star Jones' freebie-filled wedding weekend, which is being brought to you by Continental Airlines, kicked off yesterday in a temple of consumption, Saks Fifth Avenue.
Some 100 guests gathered in the tony department store's eveningwear department for Jones' "Bridal Luncheon." It was apparently the first of many nuptial perks "The View" co-host is getting for free from sponsors of her wedding to Al Reynolds, which is set for tomorrow.
Celebrity pals such as "Sopranos" shrink Lorraine Bracco, actress Holly Robinson Peete and social butterfly Denise Rich began gathering at 1 p.m. in an area of the store's 10th floor, where racks of expensive ball gowns had been replaced with tables for the party.
Jones made her grand entrance fashionably late. She seemed to be attempting to channel the sprit of Audrey Hepburn in a '50s-esque ensemble that featured a black feather-fringed dress, elbow-length gloves, gem-studded stiletto heels and a tiara affixed to a tight bun.
The only one of Jones' "View" co-hosts spotted at the afternoon affair was jokester Joy Behar.
Also on hand was "Kill Bill" actress and Jones bridesmaid Vivica A. Fox, who told The Post the soiree "was lovely, absolutely lovely."
The crowd ate and sipped Veuve Clicquot champagne as Jones stood and said: "Thank you for coming, enjoy yourself, shop."
Jones' exhortation to shell out at her "Bridal Luncheon" fit a theme that has defined the run-up to her wedding — commercialism.
Jones has named several wedding "sponsors" — including a tuxedo shop, a bridesmaid dress store and Continental Airlines — which she touts on her wedding Web page, www.starandal.com.
She has been accused of going even farther and plugging wedding-service suppliers on "The View."
Saks would not say whether Jones got yesterday's luncheon for free. But a spokeswoman strongly hinted the gala was gratis when she said the event was "put together as a joint effort" because Jones is a "friend of Saks."
The highlight of the event came when Jones introduced one special attendee: a Saks official she affectionately called "Uncle."
After the party, some guests paid came through by opening their wallets. Rich, one of Jones' bridesmaids, plopped down $2,000 for an Alexander McQueen coat, store sources said.
Jones later headed up to the store's Salon Z — which specializes in plus sizes — and tried on a bunch of clothes. A Saks spokeswoman assured The Post the store was not handing out clothes on the house.
Jones and Reynolds are set to tie the knot at St. Bartholomew's Church on Park Avenue at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, then head across the street to the Waldorf-Astoria hotel for their "white tie" wedding reception.
Last night, Jones was scheduled to paint the town red at her bachelorette party. Her hubby-to-be was set to kiss his life as a single man away at his bachelor party.
Tonight, the wedding party will have its rehearsal, after a special wedding-themed segment of "The View." The rehearsal dinner will reportedly be at the home of Rich, who has been a songwriter for fellow Jones bridesmaid Natalie Cole.
If you go, here are a few tips: Remember that no children will be allowed, except for Jones' many young family members in the wedding party.
Also, no photography will be allowed, since the exclusive rights to snap the event have been given to InStyle magazine. And don't forget your official wedding security pass.

I think the reason this gets me is the country has to preserve the sanctify of THIS?!
Or, maybe I should be happy, as half a gay marriage is better than no marriage at all...
#42re: The final stretch...
Posted: 11/12/04 at 12:33pmWell I don't think THIS is what they mean when they talk about "sanctity of marriage." There are a**holes in every walk of life.
