Yes, re-read it. It is such a great book.

The Shining never "scared" me, but it freaked me out in certain parts.

I've just realized that I don't like a single Stanley Kubrick film. Not one of them. Hmmm!

Well, "The Shining" is the only movie by him that I like.

Oprah cant act too well, let alone play 3 characters in one body. Angela Bassett, Kimberly Elise, that girl from "227"?

Except when the books come AFTER the movie...then avoid the books at any cost.

Calvin - The Talisman is my all-time favorite Stephen King book. I don't know how many times I've read it. But the sequel, Black House, was an utter disappointment. I don't know why King and Straub felt the need to revist Jack as an adult other than a reason to team up again. I would have preferred an entirely new story. As for the movie, a director isn't even attached to the project, so I wuoldn't hold my breath. Michael J. Fox is "rumored" for casting, but as who? Wolf? Ha! Now wouldn't that be funny?

I tried to read The Black House, but I couldn't even get past the first chapter.

Do the Dark Tower series get any better after the first one? I read the first one a couple of years ago and was BORED OUT MY SKULL. I had to force myself to finish it.

Some are tough, if you didnt love the first one, try the second one, but dont waste your time. I liked it better than the first, but understand what you mean.

This last installment is the most troublesome that way. So many characters have been introduced, and alot of made up words/names. Alot going on to keep track of, in a fantasy world...pretty confusing.

I loved Wizard and Glass, and that almost stands on its own.

I just finished watching Carrie. I thought the movie was fantastic. The characters were extremely well cast and it followed the book well enough. I wish it was more scary, though.
