Posted: 12/17/11 at 12:10pmI saw it. VERY disappointing. Lots of long slow shots of Brosnan looking grief-stricken and angsty. And as per usual for nearly every King film adaptation, the ending comes off as a huge ridiculous letdown. It would be laughable if it were interesting. Even Anika Noni Rose couldn't save it. I loved the book and now I want to read it again to get this version out of my brain. Ugh.

Posted: 12/17/11 at 1:30pmI agree with Mister Matt, I love the book, but this adaptation was just awful. The first half wasn't so bad, other than a lot of annoying and unnecessary story changes, but the second half was laughably bad.

Well, I haven't read the book, so I didn't have anything to compare the move to. As such, I got the feeling that the story was much MORE than what was in the movie. Brosnan went back and forth between adequate and ridiculous.
I can say it was good enough that I sat through the whole thing to find out what happened, but I'm guessing the book was much better than the movie.

Posted: 12/17/11 at 3:30pmI had no idea Anika was in this so I had to watch. I'm about 2:30 into it and it's ok so far. Nothing I haven't seen in The Shining, In the Mouth of Madness, American Horror Story and a thousand other movies. Most of it doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense but I've come to not expect anything at all from film adaptations of King novels by this point.

Yeah, I didn't need to see my Anika go through that...

Posted: 12/17/11 at 4:28pmI finished it. It was "eh". I was hoping that the tree at the end would start throwing apples ala The Wizard of Oz.

I thought it was OK, not great, not horrible. It's a shame as i love the Stephen King Mini Series when they are done well.
The best are Storm of the Century (which i loved), The Stand and IT
