Its so funny, I used to struggle as a christian with the concept of homosexuality, but I kept reading that Jesus loved everyone no matter what. It is said that what was said and done in the Old Testament is over and the new way to salvation/Heaven is through the teaching of Christ. Love everyone was at the heart and soul of His teachings, also there was that little line about "ye without sin cast the first stone". Its amazing how many "sinless" people there are in the world with all the stone throwing that seems to go on nowadays. I am straight and in a wonderfully happy marriage and I enjoy so many lovely tax breaks because of it, but it breaks my heart that so many can't share in the "officialness" of marriage. I know couples who are just as happy and just as in love as I am with my husband and can't express it in an offical way because of stupid legislation. Its sickening to me.
I also hate the way that Christians seem to get pigeon holed into being bigots who will scream damnations at homosexuals and other people for not following their personal interpretation of the Bible. I am a Christian and I choose not to judge people based on their personal choices. I may not like some people, but I feel that we should "love" (which I interpret as respect) everyone and appreciate that without differences our world would be a very boring place.
