Akiva, I think it's really great that a handsome young theater guy like yourself can be so comfortable with your heterosexuality that you embrace all your gay theater friends and support them (us) and don't mind the teasing and (harmless) flirting that surely must go on. It's really wonderful that there are Link Larkins like you out there!

eslgr8...Thanks, but really it is just natural. I think that in the theatre world you have to embrace differences in gender, ethinicity, sexuality and age. And yes...hah, there is definltey flirting and doubting my sexuality among my friends, but it is all in good fun (usually :P).

I missed this thread cause I was hangin in Central Park with the BWW-ers. (shameless plug). Anyway - I hope EVERYONE had a wonderful time yesterday... and I gladly embrace the "Fag Stag" status - by far, my gay friends are my truest friends - they are - to a person - kind, witty beyond compare and selfless in their love and concern for me and my family... can't imagine a world without...

A float in yesterday's parade was sponsored by S.W.I.S.H.
Some lovely lesbians clued in the FABULOUS Robbiej (who hosted an oft-hilarious cabaret screening of the parade) that that acronym means "Straight Women in Support of Homosexuality."

I'm late, but here I am! I myself am called a "fag hag" because of how much I love gay people and the number of friends I have that are gay. I don't know why I didn't think of this topic myself!

I know this is semi-off topic, but I was just wondering:

Am I the only gay person (atleast on this site) that is totally baffled and turned off by gay pride? I don't understand the necessity of a giant parade and celebration just because you're gay. Can someone fill me in?

Thought I'm not gay - I am anti-all pride days/months/weeks.

I'm not saying I am homophobic, etc....

I mean, what makes Feb. black-pride month? I mean, it IS the shortest month - were all the other months taken for somethign to be happy about being black?

If you're gay, you're gay. Be proud everyday.

Peh, it's not like Jews have Jewish-pride day.

Though, I suppose, whenever there is a sale, WE have our day!

Quick history lesson: Gay pride is a day to celebrate, much like any parade, what happened in a little matter of history known as the Stonewall Riot/Uprising/bitchslapping session.

Basically, reminding everyong of the beginning of modern homosexual civil rights.
