re: 'Strange' look in fashion

When I went to Europe back in July, it made me sick to see fake Louis Vuitton bags EVERYWHERE!!!!! I was at a restaurant, and I noted that at least one person every 3 tables had a LV bag. And they were all horrible fakes!! Everywhere on the streets there were guys selling really bad fake LVs. Ick.

I don't like the gelly bracelets and the spiked bracelets. I think they're ugly.

Fakes can be expensive! Of course, if someone handed me one for free, I wouldn't mind. Mine were small, and $20 each, but if you want a bigger one they can cost $40-80!

I've seen so many of those thin gelly (or would it be jelly, lol) bracelets on so many people at my school.

This is kind of dumb, but I don't really like those turtlenecks where the material around your neck has a slit in the side, and when folded down, it looks like a triangle is hanging in front and in back of you...I don't know, I just don't like it.

I would just like to say that the "dress over jeans" look can be cute when done right.
I've been rocking that look since 1998 (you know, way before it was a trend. I'm just that ahead of the fashion. What that means, is that I was massively teased in high school.)
I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

i gotta agree with the whole trucker hat thing... what is the need for the whole off-centered-and=crooked look? it's terrible! seriously, trailer trash should be one of those styles thats never in.

I live in flipflops. Everyone I know does. EVERYONE.
Maybe it's a Canadian thing. Once the warm weather hits, we expose everything we possibly can before it goes away!
I even have "dressy" flipflops and "casual" flipflops, not to mention "shower" flipflops from when I lived in a dorm.
I have them in varied colours to match different outfits.
I kid you not. Flipflops run rampant here. I have never noticed them affecting anyone's posture, and I don't think they make feet look gross. I don't think they draw attention to the feet at all. I don't see what the big deal is.
And I could walk for miles in them and not feel pain. I guess it all depends what kind you get. You do get what you pay for.

That was my diatribe on flipflops. Blame Canada.

Flip flops rock, Judy. I can wear them forever, my feet never get sore.

Trucker hats need to die a painful and quick death.

Flowery, they were all just jealous of you. They just wished they'd thought of a dress over jeans before you.

first of all I have to say that I completely agree with you Judy...that is exactly like me! I flip flops to go with all different outfits, fancy ones, shower ones, various colors, textures, and I always have one pair that I wear the majority of the time that is like molded to my feet. I could wear them alll year round but unfortunately I go to school in upstate NY so that's not really an option!

But ok I have to say that I loooveee this thread!
Ok on Louis Vuitton's...I am soo sick of it all!! I have a real one and I don't even use it anymore because of all the people running around with horrendous fakes.

I love fashion and clothes and I think it's a phenomenal way to not only express yourself but boost your confidence as well! I can't stand having the same thing as everyone else, it totally defeats the purpose.

Ok my biggest pet peeve fashion wise right now is Espadrilles! I think they are the ugliest things ever invented! I was appalled to see them being sold in places like Kate Spade and Bloomingdales! They look so cheap and ugly!

Ohh I'm also not at all into the tweed thing that's going on right now! I don't see how anyone can find that appealing!

I can't stand when people have pants that are too short also...it drives me nuts!! My high school orchestra conductor used to wear pants that were too short and then socks and either sandals or clogs and it was awful!

Hmmm...that's all for now but I know more will come to me later!

I was reading an issue of YM, and it listed some of the "best dressed" teens in the US. One of them was from NYC, and she said that she couldn't wait for the new orange Uggs to come out. Another girl said they were out of style.

Yeah espadrilles are really awful. They were awful in the 70's and they're more awful now, when we should know better.

re: 'Strange' look in fashion

The new style in my school is these choker things. It's really strange how they make them: you take a pair of tights, cut of the feet, and then where the new tights end, cut off a little bit (in a circle), and then stretch it out and make it a choker. It looks really bad.

And how can you consider yourself "punk" wearing Spongebob, My Little Pony, and Hello Kitty? I don't get it!
