who else is a fan of this fun, fantastic '80s flick? i love the imagery, the high-octane, pulsating rock score, the frivolous adventure. i love diane lane, michael pare, amy madigan, rick moranis and willem dafoe. i especially love the movie's theme song, "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young".

I only watched this the other week, still own the Album. To help keep production costs down, one whole area of Universal studios was covered in black plastic, so filming could be done during daylight hours.
A wonderful 80's movie.

i just finished watching it not too long ago. i hadn't watched it in years and it looks and sounds amazing in HD DVD. i was particularly impressed by diane lane who IMO is a sorely underrated actress. she was only 18 when she made this film and her singing vocals were dubbed but her syncing and visual performances were so spot on that no one would have been the wiser. she comes off so natural. she obviously put a lot into it and it's all up there on screen.

The interplay between Rick Moranis and Amy Madigan (in baby dyke mode) was hysterical.
I thought the movie was a downgrade from Walter Hill's usual movies, particularly THE WARRIORS, SOUTHERN COMFORT, and the minor classic THE LONG RIDERS, but oh, those songs! "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" and "Nowhere Fast" are the definitive Jim Steinman songs: Thundering, theatrical, incoherent, irresistible.
Being a child of the 80's I can't BELIEVE I've never seen this movie!!! I've never even heard of it!
I loved this movie and I do believe I was in love with Stoney Jackson because of this movie lol. I haven't seen it for awhile I am going to have to check all my old tapes and see if I still have it and watch it now.
Wow. What a flashback. I was totally obsessed with this song back then. Unfortunately the movie never played back home, so I have yet to see it.
One of my favorite movies from the 80's. I went to see this movie because I was obsessed with Michael Pare after Eddie and the Cruisers...another great 80's flick!!!!!!
Eddie and the Cruisers was great!
And yes, he was hot! Whatever has happened to him?
