How about something fun, like Stumble Along from Drowsy Chaperone? If she's going to do a duet, find someone to sing Your Timeless To Me from Hairspray.

Certainly. I think that's why I said "Of course you can feel that way..." I figured you were speaking mostly about her Broadway albums and more recent takes on Broadway songs (like the horribly boring "Music That Makes Me Dance" from her sappy love album). I agree that those songs are "over-produced, bombastic bores", but I think her early work is beyond sublime and her song choices and arrangments (done by the amazing Peter Matz) are again beyond amazing.

Posted: 1/22/07 at 7:49pmI agree with "Yesterdays", "Where Am I Going", and "Where Or When"; but, for me, a little bit of her goes a long, long way. Her "Somewhere", I count among the worst recordings of all time!

"Somewhere" is indeed god awful.
Sometimes I totally get her, and others I totally don't. For instance her "By Myself" backed by odd computer noises ??? What is that?
