Strip at Night

Unless an anticipated surgical procedure intervenes, husband and I will be flying to Vegas at the end of February to run/walk the "Rock N Roll Half Marathon".  It's called "Strip at Night" because, perhaps obviously, it takes place on the main strip at night.  We've done this event once before, and it remains our favorite simply because it's VEGAS, BABY !  Next up, probably the Honolulu Marathon in December and the Gay Games Half Marathon (Valencia, Spain) in 2026.

Are there any runners/walkers here?  If so, please tell us about your experiences.

My two favorite road races that I have run were the NYC Marathon and the "Bolder Boulder" 10 K. The NYC Marathon was very cool, and I did it under 4 hours which made me feel very proud. The "Bolder Boulder" is an awesome road race in Colorado which is so pretty and hilly -lol. The memorable thing about that race was meeting Frank Shorter who ran in the race the day I ran it in.

Just qualifying for the NYC Marathon is a big deal.  Way out of my league.  Congrats!

Each May in San Diego, the U.S. Navy sponsors a walk/run across the Coronado Bay Bridge to raise money for Navy programs.  The distance is roughly 4 miles, a bit more than a 5K, and there is no time limit.  It is the only day during the year that you can cross the bridge on foot, so it is hugely popular.  I've done it 3 times.  This video from 2012 was my first.  There is a brief moment where you can see me and my friend, but I won't attempt to identify us in that mass of people.
