Sweeney's daughter "seriously ill"

Prayers for Mr. Depp-

Johnny Depp's seven-year-old daughter Lily-rose is seriously ill in an English hospital, according to British newspaper Daily Mirror. The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, 43, and his partner Vanessa Paradis, 34, are holding a vigil at the child's bedside after she was struck down by the undisclosed illness nine days ago. The Mirror claims it knows what medical condition Lily-Rose is suffering from, but have decided to withhold it from the press out of respect for the privacy of Depp's family. Depp had been filming Sweeney Todd in London and Buckinghamshire when his daughter was rushed to hospital last week. A hospital source says, "He has not asked for any special favors but just wants the best for his child, like any parent. "It is such a difficult time for him but he is hanging in there for the sake of his daughter and the whole family is just praying that she gets better. They are taking each day as it comes. "It's been an emotional rollercoaster for all of them and he's been worrying himself silly. He's a devoted dad and is spending as much time as he can with Lily." Depp and French model/actress Paradis also have a four-year-old son Jack.

From the thread title I thought the actress that's playing Johanna was ill. It is bad that I really want to know what's wrong with her? Anyway, I do hope she gets better soon.

Well, I googled the story, and every outlet in the UK seems to have picked it up now, so at least they seem to feel the Mirror is reliable...

I think we would all love the mirror to be wrong on this erik.
I had the same thought when I saw the source, but IMDB is pretty reliable.

lol... Rath, I immediately thought that, too, but I was also hopeful that perhaps they had more insight into the credibility of stories, given their experience... You know, that maybe they wouldn't have picked up on it if their collective gut told them it was false.

Oh, i saw a picture of their little girl once. She's so pretty, looks just like her mom.

I hope she gets well. Depp is a quite pleasant fellow, I think. Maybe this is a sign that Sweeney movie should not be made, though. Sarcasm.

The Mirror may be a tab, but Brit tabs are a bit different to the American Tabs I think - they're daily publications with some of the highest circulations in the country which are the main source of news for large sections of the population. Also with britains restrictive libel laws you don't often get stories which are totally false. Puff pieces yes, or personal attacks and vendettas, but no-one has a grudge against Depp, and no-one would publish something like this without cause -the PCC code is quite strict on that sort of thing.
