they haven't given him much this year, so I'm not surprised about it....they seem to have gone way overboard with the whole Izzy-dead man thing.
I mean can anyone tell me why it's more satisfying to viewers to see Izzy having sex with a dead man, than two lesbians discovering love? I just don't get it.

To be fair, we only heard her having sex with the dead man.
This show used to be fun and escapist, but now it's devolved into a hot mess of crap.

TR is right to jump ship now. This show is going down faster than a $5 whore. It's ridiculous. I would love to know what his reasoning REALLY is. The episode after Brooke was fired, he was in the show for a total of like 2 minutes. It was said that he called in sick but was actually pissed that she was let go.
Regardless of what they say, I believe Brooke Smith was fired for not being pretty enough or the stereotypical straight male fantasy of a lesbian. They replaced her with Melissa George, a hot young thin thing. Callie is going to be having a kiss with Jessica Capshaw, a hot young thin blonde thing. (Of course, that's also around the rumored time Sara may or may not be leaving the show.) They can try all they want, but the facts kind of speak for themselves. They claim no one liked Brooke's character. Of course not. They wrote her as a complete bitch. (And personally, I always wanted to tell her to rub the lotion on her skin!) Oh well. I miss season 2. I kind of hope one of these days that Meredith will wake up and say, "What happened?" Someone will answer, "You fell off the pier at the ferry crash site." Do over!

I wish they would have shown it! If Heigl thinks she has crappy material now, imagine how she'd feel if she had to masturbate on camera!

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is just yummeh. I can forgive the dead thing if I get to look at those dimples.

I totally don't blame him for leaving, but... come on TR, you're so dang cute on the show! It's only going to get worse without you!!!
(and YES about the JDM thing hehe. Pretty much the ONLY reason I'm semi-okay with this Denny storyline is because it's just sooo loverly having him back on the show to stare at every week! He's SO. adorable. and schmexy)

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

Mary McDonnell is the best thing to happen to the show in a long time. Yeah, they stuck her with the disorder du jour (which is handled much better than the ridiculous freak show on Boston Legal), but she definitely rises above the material. She and Chandra Wilson are the only reasons to watch the show any more. I love Sandra Oh, but her character flatlined long ago. I agree about the sexiness of Morgan, but it just doesn't make up for the utter ludicrous plotline that resuscitated his character.

That's the thing... He hasn't really been on this year. He's had no story except his intern exam in passing. I don't know if that's because of the "storyline" or that he's difficult. Either way, it's annoying.
George, however, has been very busy in the past few months. (Or Why the Show Makes Me Crazy, by JG2) Denny died in May. New interns started in August. This season started in October. We are supposed to ignore the fact that they had a Halloween episode last season and just roll with the fact that it's only been two months. He lost his father, got married, cheated with Izzie, failed his exam, agreed to have a baby, confessed his affair, moved in with Izzie, broke up with Izzie, moved in with Lexie and passed his intern exam. That's one busy dude. I don't know why I got so invested in this stupid thing.

Well, the timeline has always been kind of fuzzy anyway. The first three seasons were just one year, right? And this season is a full year? I dunno.

Yeah, Meredith and the crew were interns at the beginning of season 1. New interns didn't start until the beginning of season 4. If it weren't for Sara Ramirez and the characters of Mark and Callie, I would have stopped watching already. I could use Thursdays to catch up on all the crap I record on Tuesdays.

Yeah, this show has definitely turned into a train wreck this season. Okay, ther ewere certain things from other seasons that were bad, but this is just getting bad. If I still really liked George, I think I would care more about this, but again, T.R. is smart to get out of this mess. Now, all we need is a spinoff with Callie and Mark in New York, and then cancel this show. That would be great.

Entertainment Tonight listed this as RUMOR tonight. And if ET says so, it's true!

Interesting move to walk away from a secure gig on an established show.
Good luck to him, especially with a looming strike.
Anyone know what offers he might have on the table?

Yeah, I'm still kind of confused on the whole thing. Some sources are saying that he definitely did, while others just say it is a rumor still.
And I would imagine maybe he would go back to doing theater maybe? I know he did that before Grey's Anatomy, and he really does not have many other credits to his name for television or movies.

I'm sad about T.R. leaving, but don't blame him at all. Katie thinks she didn't have good material last year, well she can't complain too much now, considering her best friend was given NOTHING to do this season. It sort of feels like they were trying to get him to leave. We'll just not give him anything to work with and then he'll want to leave.
I'm with some of you on the JDM thing. Sort of annoyed by the storyline, but goodness he's cute. I just watched PS I Love You again this weekend and he's the best part of that movie. Adorable!

Although I'm sad TR is leaving, maybe this means Burke may reappear on the show for an episode or two.

I don't see any reason why TR leaving the show would make them welcome back Isaiah Washington for any period of time.

Well Burke left the show because of his homophobic views toward TR

Burke was homophobic? I guess I didn't realize Isaiah Washington had to leave the show due to his character's views instead of his own. Interesting.

They BETTER not bring Isaiah back just because TR leaves! That would be just plain wrong. The reason they let him go was not (or at least SHOULD not have been) because of any specific feud between TR and Isaiah. It was because the way Isaiah acted was wrong and hurtful, and hurtful actions/words deserve consequences.
Why would it suddenly be okay for him to come back simply because TR is gone? While it very well might WORK better simply in terms of the fact that without TR there there it might eliminate some tension amongst the cast, that's not the point.
Not that I'm saying the man should never be able to work again, but with THAT cast, on THAT set? no. He was disrespectful and therefore should not be allowed on that set anymore, plain and simple. If they let him come back, that would imply that he's allowed to say those things and there's little to no consequence for it.

Um, no, Isaiah was let go because he said very offensive things to a fellow cast member and acted disrespectfully. He didn't quit because TR is gay. When you're let go for reasons like that, you don't get asked back because the object of your disrespect is gone.

Yeah, I don't know how true the rumors are/were, but it sounded like Isaiah Washington was more of a problem than just what he said about T.R. Knight. Again, that could be fabricated a bit, but usually, when someone is let go from a job, it is for a good reason, although it may not seem like it at the time.

It's HIGHLY doubtful Isaiah will ever be back on Grey's. His tiff was not with TR, though that's who the comment was supposedly about. His issue was with Patrick Dempsey. Their fights were huge. He expressed interest in coming back recently and was laughed at.
It's not a rumor that TR is in negotiations to get out of his contract. The rumor is that the powers that be are granting it.
I just realized the ONE reason I am sad that he's leaving. No TR means no more Debra Monk! That blows! That scene with Sara last year killed me.
