The BirdCage is good but GOODBYE MR. CHIPS is the best!
Lucky Sunday!
My only problem with Mr. Chips is that it always leaves me sobbing. At the most "Birdcage" might leave me laughing till I cry! I just can't handle the tears right now.
I understand Mamie.
Bird Cage is cheery!
*hands Mamie a Kleenex*
Chips is so very good.
And I'm a big fan of The Birdcage too. It's damn funny, and has held up better than most comedies, gay or straight.

Paris When It Sizzles
It may not be the best movie ever made, but where else can you get Audrey Hepburn, William Holden AND Noel Coward????

I recorded "Theodora Goes Wild" the other day and watched it last night. It was really cute. I love when TCM dusts off the really old stuff.

The original "To Be or Not To Be" is on tomorrow afternoon. If you've never seen it, do yourself a favor and make the time for it. It is positively sublime.
I agree "To Be or Not To Be" is exceptional. Carol Lombard shines and Jack Benny is great.
Phyllis, I agree 150% I LOVE the original TO BE OR NOT TO BE. It's hysterically funny, extremely poignant and truly Jack Benny's finest cinematic moment! Thanks for the alert!!!
Now Showing: The Postman Always Rings Twice - 1946

The age of anxiety!
OMG...I can't believe this is on today!!!!
It's a good day MissP!
I can't decide whether to watch TO BE OR NOT TO BE while it's actually airing or just record it. There is one fabulous movie on after the next all day...and night!!! I have things I'm supposed to "do" today. OH NOOOOOOOO!
darn, i missed the beginning ... and i simply can't watch a movie if i've missed the beginning.
we're having a wonderful rain shower in atlanta this afternoon!
I'm the same way, cturtle. That's why I'm glad we are DVRing it. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 2:16 and thought, "Too late. Must start at the very beginning." Because it's a very good place to start.
