I absolutely LOVE this version of "Love Look Away" and Patrick Adiarte's dancing. Just loads of fun things here.
James Shigeta is swoonworthy!
So is the Love Look Away ballet!
Mesmerizing! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!
It sure is Glebby. Wasn't that just beautiful?
I always had the biggest crush on James Shigeta. I think it's one of the reasons I still like Lost Horizon (musical) so much.
Yes, and so is:
Are you crying too MissP and Mamie?
Ah Mamie - You just made me realize that my dad was not bad at all! I had an orthodontist appt. and he consented to let me see LOST HORIZONS which was playing next door instead of going back to school.
I cried during Miyoshi Umeki's heart-tugging confession to James Shigeta.
OMG...roller skates!
These sets are incredible! The set for the "Love Look Away" ballet was astonishing.
Robbins is the best!
The first flat, widescreen TV!!!!
I can't let this go by without a nod to the brilliant Jack Soo. One of Barney Miller's fantastic troup of misfit cops! I remember crying when I found out that he'd passed away. It just didn't seem right.
He was in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, too!
That was terrific.
Now I've got to log off of here and get ready to go. Just about every adult in my family was inconsiderate enough to be born in October and November. We spend so much time (and MONEY) celebrating birthdays that we're all bankrupt BEFORE Christmas! One of the few exceptions to the rule (besides myself) is my niece, Katie. So what does she do? Goes out and gets engaged to a guy who was born in November. Naturally.
So, today we're having the second large group birthday party this month. This time for my sister, her daughter in law, my sister in law, and my new nephew-to-be.
Have a great day Glebby and Miss P. It's been lovely watching Flower Drum Song with you!
I hope you enjoy the party Mamie!
Getting my daughter ready for her last ballet class of the season. Now my son wants to take lessons, too. He actually does some of those Hermes Pan moves around the house already!
Excellent!
THE BELLS OF SAINT MARY'S!
THE AWFUL TRUTH at 8!!!
PHILADELPHIA STORY at 10!!!
And two hours earlier where I live.
Perfect!
The Awful Truth
Glebby, there's a line in there that Irene Dunne says to Cary Grant when they're watching that gal friend of his "Bubbles" (or Peaches?) do her night club act that KILLS me every time.
Something she says to him like, "Bubbles? Yes, well I guess it was easier for her to change her name than it was for her entire family to change theirs."
One of my favorite screwball comedies of all time.
SINGING IN THE RAIN tonight!
Andy Hardy all morning tomorrow!
