How did Maria Menounos end up with any sort of job on television? She just drones on in the same monotone voice.

Hey Jane....Not all of us have all the free time in the world like you to sit around and look through each thread. If it ain't inthe first two pages, I wouldn't keep looking.
Anyway, back to the show. What the hell does Bolton have over America? Why are they voting for this inept choir (choir's not even the right word, but we'll play along.) Patti will obviously wipe the floor in the competition. But I agree what was mentioned earlier. It's going to be easier to find amazing singers in Philly than Oklahoma City or New Haven.
The choir I'm getting most impressed with is Oklahoma City. The have shown a real diversity in their music. Blake Shelton is proviing to be such a down to earth and funny guy. I could see them and Philly as the final two.

I was unable to watch (and thus way behind), but I'm glad to hear Nick Lachey and Cincy are doing well...I'm in Collegiate Corale at school with 3 of the members.
Watching now!

Posted: 12/19/07 at 9:46pmWSS- it takes less time to type in the key words on a search to look for a thread then to look through all the pages. Jane2 was trying to tell this thread poster that if they had typed in the words Clash of the Choirs, they would have seen the thread I started immediately- without having to look on the pages. Just sayin'- mom P,S, We are on the same page with Michael Bolton- his voice makes my skin hurt!

Posted: 12/19/07 at 9:54pmWho cares? Big deal, two threads on the same topic, it's not like it hasn't happened before or won't happen again. Just like cream the one that has the most interest will rise to the top and the other will sink.

Anyway, back to the topic. Read my type-it takes less time to click on search than to look through a half page of threads, toots. It's also what we call courtesy here. If you don't want to show any, that's your call.

Posted: 12/20/07 at 9:37amFinally, a choir that sang as a choir and not as backup singers. For me, "Flight of the Bumblebee" was the best of the night. Nice tight harmony, a capella, little if any stupid choreography, just a great sound. I thought the rest of the evening went downhill from there.

If the worse thing that happens to you today is that there is more than one thread of the same topic on this inconsequencial website then you should get down on your knees right this second and thank God you have a good life.
This is supposed to be fun and mindless entertainment but I think some you take this stuff way too seriously.

" you should get down on your knees right this second and thank God you have a good life."
Oh please, you're the one taking it too seriously. Lighten up, the show's about to begin.

Thanks Tom...you said it. Mom and Jane aint happy unless they can bitch about how they "own" Clash. Get over it ladies. But they have one more day before they slink into oblivion so let 'em have their 15 minutes.
TheatreDiva...I haven't seen any of the celbes even try to conduct! Bolton was waving his hands..Lachey groovin to his own beat...None of these people will ever be a choir director! But they are only there cause their name sells.
What does eveyone thing of the finalists? I guess it will go to Philly.

How old are you guys, 12? Who gives a SH*T about Clash. I was over it before I ever watched it.
THIS IS ABOUT COMMON COURTESY. Now go back into your playpen and watch the people singing.
#37re: NBC's 'Clash of the Choirs'
Posted: 12/20/07 at 7:51pmJane2 and I were trying to teach you all about common courtesy. I'm not the one who made it a point for people to come to my thread. I simply put Clash of the Choirs which would have showed up in a thread search. Rocky's the one who got childish by saying he had the official thread and put "talk here about Clash of the Choirs". I did not make a personal attack on this thread or call anyone a bitch. You see, that's where maturity comes in. I try to type in my own opinions and try to understand others. You all are the ones who totally took things out of proportion. I could care less about beating out another person's thread. All I wanted to do was talk about the show. So what I think (not thing) is that Patti's choir should win! Enough said! mom

They TRIED! The cowbow just stood there nodding his head yes.
WTF is he anyway?

Give up Mom, courtesy is not a factor in some lives.

How is ragging on someone in public for not doing a "search" courteous?
The original poster said he searched for a thread and didn't find one, so he started one. Just because he didn't use the "search feature" doesn't mean he didn't search, it simply means he didn't search the way you wanted him to or the way that most people do. There is nothing discourteous about that, it's just not the norm. It might have been discourteous if he had found another thread and then started this one, but it appears that that was not the case.
Seriously, do you always do a search before you start a thread? I don't, and I'd bet 99% of the people who post here don't either.
This thread would have probably drifted to page four by now, had it not been bumped and re-bumped by the very people who have taken umbrage that it was even started at all.

I've decided to post on this thread cause the other on is a bunch of crap by egotistical members. At least this one talks about the show and not their whiney feelings.
I haven't seen any celeb even try to conduct. Having been in school choirs for years, not one of them even has a remote idea of what conducting is. Patti's arm waving, Nick's dancing, and Bolton's arm waving don't even come close. But this competition isn't about true musical conducting and no one watching this could care less.
My observations are that Patti will win even after that train wreck song. I enjoyed Kelly Rowland's song over anything Bolton ever did. I don't think the choirs were evenly matched. It's like putting Munci, IN against NYC singers.
I think it's been a fun show to watch and hope iot does come back next year.

This is the last I have to say about this mountain out of a molehill.
The courtesy is to the moderators and owners of this site. They would prefer that band width is NOT WASTED by repeated threads on the same topic. If you're too lazy to click on search which takes a moment, then that is your call.

Would you like some cheese with your whine?
Are you the owner? If the owner was so concerned about wasted bandwidth, he would have deleated your thread.
Hope this is your last post. Oh, by the way, all your whiney threads have taken up bandwidth. But, for some reason, you're not concerned about that.

Posted: 12/20/07 at 8:56pmHow interesting, that after all these post...it's now courtesy to the moderators that's the problem, something that no one has mentioned before. If the moderators had a real problem with it, this thread would be gone. They can delete at will, and have. Sorry, Jane I'm not buying that argument at all, it's coming just a tad to late. And it still doesn't speak to the question about how taking someone to task publicly shows courtesy.

Agree with you JustAGuy!
I think Patti will take the top prize. But after last night, who knows!
I have been impressed with Oklahoma City. Blake Shelton, who I never heard of before, seems like a real cool guy and the most real of all the celebs. Loved Taking It To The Streets.

I'm recording it so that I can skip the sob stories, Maria M. and anything with Michael Bolton. After last night I'm really hoping that Lachey's choir will make a good stand against Patti's.
I don't have much invested in the whole enterprise, because it doesn't resemble any choir competition that I've ever been part of. So, the whole thing is a bit of a disappointment.
