shootings, but it's all in the wee mornings when I shouldn't be out.. you wake up and all is pretty.. just like NYC :)
but, truly, no more so than VAN.. I just think CBC loves to tout our issues.... and yet never seem to have a camera on Hastings St :)

This is all on King, you dweeb!
Plus we don't have shootings. We just have gang fights, stabbings, beatings and floggings.
But not shootings.

Holy smokes, the bridge closed AGAIN today because of the wind.
Good time to move, eh, DD?
(Oh wait, not really...you still have to get back INTO Seattle from your work. Were you screwed for your commute?)

For the first time ever, DD and I carpooled..and because of that, I did NOT check the traffic website... I'd have my HOV buddy..
argh.. I'm coming down a road a few blocks before DD's office and I see the darndest thing... cars coming out off the freeway, but on both sides of them I do NOT see "Do Not Enter" (typical freeway exit thing to see from that side), but "Freeway Entrance".. and I'm looking and looking and thinking.. hmm.... what's wrong with this? this seems odd? should those cars..
RING! the first of three mobile calls to me that start with, "Okay, I know you always check the website and have the traffic radio on... " (not yesterday, it was jazz)," but you should know..."
It took us two hours, but finally got back to the Hill (Capitol Hill). Went to dinner at the Rosebud ...ahh... 'twas nice after all of that

one of my coworkers actually stayed in Bellevue til 6, then drove across and was home by 7:30. (Eastlake)..
I'm thinking going right at 5pm was probably an issue and delayed folks due to the sudden exodus from one highway to another..
we were riding in style in my ghetto jeep... no issues :)

Okay, I just got a phone call from the Fifth Avenue Theatre, buttering me up (even though I said I thought the show had flaws and probably wouldn't be a critical success on Broadway) and then hitting me up for money. So I was reciting my credit card number and expiration date and then they asked me for the 3 numbers at the back where my signature is. I stopped and asked why they would need those 3 numbers, and they said their system requires it. So I reluctantly gave it to them and got off the phone but now I'm a shade paranoid. The Fifth Avenue website doesn't require the 3 security numbers if you donate online, and I don't even know how the Fifth Avenue got my number to begin with, unless TicketMaster gave it to them.
Does that seem fishy? I'm panicking a bit.

that's what my mother told me when she saw my tattoo. I wonder if that also applies to plastic surgery? then no Jewish woman can be buried.

Posted: 3/9/06 at 9:05pmTiff, it's a good idea never to furnish any info like that over the phone.

F*ck. That's what I thought, and I was stupid and reluctantly gave it away anyway. I don't even know how they got my phone number, unless they got it through TicketMaster. DD or Cam, do you remember us leaving our phone numbers on comment cards or anything at the theatre?
I'm really paranoid now. And I'm usually the one to nag other people on security precautions! I *69-ed the number, thinking I'd call and see if they could cancel my payment and tell them I'll pay through the official site instead, but I'm only getting the busy signal.

Posted: 3/9/06 at 9:09pmChances are you're fine. Just think twice next time. Those three numbers are like an added little way to check credit. Sometimes I have to give when buying something, and sometimes I don't.

Just got off the phone with Visa, cancelled my current credit card number and thus, rejecting any transactions that go through as of now (including that one since it hasn't been submitted for processing yet). God, what a pain in the ass. Now I'll have to go update all my online accounts that have my credit card number stored and e-mail the theatre to tell them that if they're looking for donations, I'll donate online but not on the phone anymore.
It's not even like I'm worried that the theatre's trying to scam me, I'm just worried that the person on the phone isn't even from the theatre. Yeesh.

Hm... I think it was a valid call dear. I get them all the time.
When you buy tickets for the 5th, I think even if you go through TicketMaster, it goes directly to them, so yes, they would have your phone number. And usually over the phone transactions require the 3 numbers for confirmation - I sometimes have to give it for on-line transactions as well.
