The olympics are such a worry. My heart is broken for the people in Madrid who were murdered by terrorists. We grieve for Spain and mankind. Updated On: 3/12/04 at 07:45 PM
This is horrible. It breaks my heart.
Glad you're safe, Jarico.
I won't ramble about what an awful tragedy the bombing is - this we all know, but I will say that I *completely* agree with Auggie's comment about Todd Bertuzzi's violence during a hockey game, and about Martha Stewart. There's a large difference between a hockey player's suspension (granted, he did hurt the other player pretty severely) and a major terrorist attack. Methinks American media needs to reevaluate its priorities.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted.

This was so horrible. I am so sorry for all of the poor, innocent people killed.
I'll never understand man's inhumanity to man.

This is really sad I heard a scary thing on tv today, they said that if it is Alquada that it could have been a practice run for there NYC ideas. aghhh I'm switching to busses.

At least we know Al-Queda is still operating in a low-tech fashion (i.e., no "dirty" bombs or nuclear devices).
But I'd keep my go-bag packed and replenished if I were you 'cause they WILL come back our way.
I'm a little surprised that this didn't trigger an Orange Alert in the US.

And I guess it hasn't escaped notice that it was 3/11 like our 9/11. What does the number 11 have anything to do with it? Does that mean we should call home sick on the 11th of every month just to play it safe?

i think that too much is read into the date, d. probably this was not chosen for the sognificance of the date as opposed to a confluence of favorable events. unless, of course, this was meant to heighten awareness for nyc's information line which happens to be 311.
what worries me more is the mention in the brigade of abu hafs al-masri's letter of the "winds of black death" attack that is 90% ready to strike at the heart of america. if that don't sound like a dirty bomb, i don't know what does.
it's just a matter of time before the civilized nations of the world are faced with a choice: submit to the rule of an islamic caliphate, or turn large portions of the middle east into a big glass bowl.

It's a scary thought no matter which way you think about it, Papa. ::shiver::
