blwyr - do you think, as a parent, it's possible to be objective in this type of decision? I always figure that the first impulse is to keep a child from pain, but I've also heard there is nothing like losing a child (from friends who have.) I really can't completely put myself in the parent's position on this. It's got to be agonizing.

I certainly cannot put myself in the shoes of anyone who has actually faced these decisions. This episode and coverage has caused us to discuss the issue generally and this afternoon I am going to discuss it furhter with my wife. I know what her intentions are, but I am not quite certain about the kids.

I do know one thing - we both are disgusted with Bush, DeLay and cohorts. My wife's politics make BWS look conservative.
