Brad Pitt announced Wednesday that he's donating $100,000 to fight California's Proposition 8, a November ballot initiative that would eliminate same-sex couples' right to marry.
"Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8," the actor said in a statement.
Thanks Brad!

At least they use their fame and wealth to do good things for the world.
That happens sometimes with rich people.
Not often.

Her book didn't even do $3000 worth of sales, did it?

Smelly bad I hear, but not B.O. - more like he eats only organic foods and there is a unique odor that eminates from him b/c of that.
he stayed at a hotel I was working at in college and for the 10 seconds I actually spoke with him, he was very nice.
I realize that in such a short exchange you really can't tell much about a person, but there were a ton of other celebs (and celeb wannabes) who managed to be complete douches in that same amount of time.

Crap! Now, I'm gonna have to stop referring to him as the most boring A-list celebrity of all time.
But, I've always thought he was hot. I remember seeing him on Growing Pains when I was little and saying to myself, "DAMN!".

I find it fascinating how he's been the bar for masculine beauty since before I was of an age to appreciate masculine beauty. Actors go in and out of style, they even go bats*** crazy, but "Brad Pitt" has meant "hot man" for as long as I can remember and it shows no sign of changing. Even dumping Jennifer Aniston and forging a Rainbow Family (which is in many ways good, but in several other ways a bit odd) hasn't dented his image any.
I don't even generally find him that attractive myself ('Fight Club' will always be the exception here XD), but omg his longevity. It's impressive stuff!

I love this quote from him:
"Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8," Pitt said Wednesday.
Brad Pitt also expressed surprise that more people in the entertainment industry aren't making donations to keep gay marriage legal. "Especially George Clooney," Pitt said. "Now, that guy should be driving up to city hall with a dump truck full of cash. I'm not implying anything, but 'dedicated bachelor'? That's about as convincing as marrying Katie Holmes."

He and Angie are the Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward for the younger set. Genuinely good people who match their ideal with money.
Love him (them)!

Good on him!
And his statement re: George? Hilarious! But hopefully (for me anyway) no basis in reality.....LOL

Posted: 9/18/08 at 3:40pmWhen statements like that are made I get the feeling that most celebrities think it's stupid for those who are closeted to remain so.

I'll concede a little bit. A very little bit. But that little bit is really overwhelmed by the vast hulking majority of his "performances."
TROY. Unforgiveable. God in heaven. Only Keanu is worse.
I wish Brad would just pursue his career as a piece of nicely worked out beefcake. Be a model, do porn. Just no more of these attempts at acting...

You remind me of a line of Phoebe's, when Brad guested on "Friends":
"Take off your shirt and tell us about it."
