Okay, I need to vent.
I completely have nothing against him, the Oregon man Thomas Beatie, now pregnant with his second child.
But the fact that he's calling himself the FIRST is completely false. When Barbara Walters called him on it, he said he was the first LEGAL man to give birth. Also untrue.
My transgendered partner is now pregnant with our second child. We've lived a quiet life outside of the spotlight no problem. Our daughter is a good year older than Beatie's, and we aren't even the first.
His attention grabbing media schemes have me completely frustrated. He complains of having to fear for his families life. Having to stay indoors and have security cameras. Why? Because he willingly put himself on every paper and television program. This was his choice.
I'm not saying we should live inside 24/7. We live an open life without fear. Why? Because we don't need to claim we're the first to vindicate our existence as a valid, loving family.
I write this only to vent and let everyone know that this sad man is not the first, again neither are we, and shouldn't be claiming to be the pioneer that he clearly isn't.

Call Guinness! Seriously!
Did he really try to put himself into Guiness, Namo?

Not that I know of but you should, totally. It's such a rip off.
Never said we were the first. A couple we know has a 12 year old child.
I'm sensing a gigantic condescending tone in your 2 posts. So I'm not even going to attempt to discuss this further with you.

Could you articulate your opinion instead of making blurry snarky buzz-posts in response?

Ah, ignorance looks so pretty on you!

Okay, still, I think you should claim "second first pregnant man" after the guy with the 12 year old. I just think the media needs to know that this is a charade being perpetrated by a charlatan.

And clearly this thread didn't garner the attention you were looking for.
No attention needed here, love.

Wow...I cannot fathom where your ignorance stems from. I hope you don't demand equality in you life, because you're certainly not allotting it to things you clearly have no education or tolerance for.
I see vents left and right on this board, from each an every member. And it really upsets me that the same courtesy isn't allowed to me.

I can't fathom what you think I'm ignorant of.
Well, from your posts here, I'd wager to bet everything in general.

Wow, I didn't think a hate crime was possible on a message board but you've managed to do it. Congrats.
I'm not even going to try to understand where your hatred stems from. I wish you love and peace in every aspect of your life.

I've never vented so "each and every member" may be overstating it.
However, not venting has left me a volcano just waiting to erupt. Which is a nightmare, of course. I should have vented more. Hell, I should have vented at all.
Did your partner used to be a lesbian? I only ask because my old school femme dyke colleague laments the trend -- and yes, she sees it as a lamentable trend -- of butch dykes becoming tranny boys now and she sees a real dearth of butch lesbians. Hell, even Leslie Feinberg did it, and she was about as old school butch as you could get.
Yes, my partner did identify as lesbian prior to transitioning. In his case, and I don't know if it is the same for all who identified as lesbian pre-trans, it was the most comfortable niche he fit into. It was the crowd that accepted him. But he's attracted to men and identifies as a gay male.
