Tonight is the night. I am most looking foreward to seeing Usher perform and I also am interested to see how Chelsea Handler will host the show. I think Lady Gaga is going to win every award she is nominated for. Maybe Taylor Swift will win Best Female Video, fro "Fifteen," as a sympathy award for what happened last year.

F*ck the rest of them, I'm only watching for Chels.
I would like to co-sign TheatreFan4's post. I would not be so invested to watch this if it was somebody else.
There are rumours going around that Gaga is making a surprise performance, which would be incredible.
I disagree that she's going to sweep the awards though. I think she deserves practically all of them considering she's put more effort into her videos and made more of a musical impact than anyone else this year, but this is publicly voted and they are never predictable (unless Bieber or Swift are involved, then it's obvious).
If the awards are manipulated behind the scenes, which is more than likely, I doubt they'd give that many to Gaga because they'll want to keep everyone happy. Especially if turns out she isn't performing, they might be a bit annoyed by that after their gesture of 13 (well, 18 ) nominations. Plus there's been a bit of drama with her videos being pulled from their site I believe.
My guess is that Taylor will win 'Best Female', Katy Perry will win 'Best Pop' and Gaga may win 'Video of the Year'. I wouldn't be surprised if the Beyonce factor gives Telephone the edge over Bad Romance.
I think Eminem and B.o.B will do well. I also really hope they show some love to Florence + the Machine, that would be fantastic. It would also provide them with a bit of award controversy by giving some awards to a totally Stateside-unknown band.

I am absolutely in love with Florence+The Machine. The video for Dog Days Are Over is stunning.
I absolutely worship Chelsea Handler and cannot wait for tonight! I don't even know who's nominated and for what, but I'm so excited for Chelsea.
It looks like Gaga has taken discharged gay military men and women as her escorts to the VMA's.
She looks STUNNING. Quite Cher-like. Very etherial in her Vanity Fair McQueen dress, flowing white hair with blue tips. The Gaga twist is the feather-hawk headdress.

Are the "VMA Awards" like Edina Monsoon's "PR PR Person's Awards"? And should one visit an ATM machine beforehand?

I JUST found out that Florence is performing--I just discovered her a few weeks ago. Good for her! Didn't realize she was MTV big. I'm also very excited for Robyn's performance! :)
I didn't realize MTV still showed videos.

THAT'S what that stands for?

Chelsea's been a terrific host. Not surprised Lady Gaga won Best Female Video. It looks like Taylor won't be getting any sympathy awards anymore.
The staging of this awards show is making a strong run for the worst concept since the Emmys Circle a couple of years ago.

I had to Tivo the program because it was time to eat dinner. Usher's performance was AWESOME!

Chelsea stinks. Her delivery is atrocious. Of course, the writing certainly doesn't help. Who wrote this garbage? She's committing the biggest sin of all; not being funny. Gaga is the only reason to watch. The rest is dreck.
I want to throw rocks at Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift is like a singing Valium.

I really didn't like Taylor's performance. It was different side of her, but it was too weird.

LOL @ Taylor Swift's performance. That was so bloody melodramatic, acting like she had a brush with death.
I totally stand corrected on Gaga's winning. I seriously didn't think she'd be doing as well as this but so far she's sweeping every award she's up for. 5 for 5 at this point I believe?
Florence's performance was GREAT. It wasn't even her best, her voice is capable of so much more. Loved the staging of it.
Hopefully she'll gain a lot of attention Stateside now. The crowd certainly seemed to love her considering they have no idea who she is. Good sign, I think.
Usher's performance was good. He's no doubt a great dancer and those were some great visuals, just a shame about the actual material really.
Valium would imply monotone. It was just the same pitchy, angsty music from her. She looked like an extra from The Aviator.
What was the point of showing the kanye clip before Taylor swift's performance. Just how long is she going to milk this?
I think that Taylor Swift's performance was a real misstep. She is taking herself way too seriously. As was said before, her performance was way too melodramatic.

8-10 year olds gave Justin Beiber that New Artist Award.
