Posted: 6/4/10 at 9:26pmI am kind of glad they have past participants as analysts this time instead of that painful duo Mike & Mike (two braindead "sports" talk radio hosts) being analysts in previous years. It is interesting to get an "insider's perspective" hearing their past experiences.

Posted: 6/4/10 at 9:31pmWhen I was a sales rep, I was in a class with a girl who was the inspiration for the Disney movie The Girl who Spelled Freedom. They used to show it all the time. It was about a girl whose family escaped the wars in Cambodia (I believe) and were adopted by a family in Tennessee. She won her state spelling bee. This was a girl who didn't even know English but she studied hard. She thought she would be sent back home if she didn't win. Anyway, she was floored when I told her I had seen that movie. It was such an honor to meet her- She's now a very lovely, articulate woman. skittles- love your post!

Posted: 6/5/10 at 12:48pmThe second place finisher goes to a school in my district! My cousin probably knows him! I just think that this is so cool. Last year, I knew someone who was going to the national spelling bee, but he didn't make it to the televised portion.
