I only expect the best recaps from Mister Matt. It seems like the contestants are carbon copies of previous ones: the blondes; the separated couple; the ones where one wants to get married the other doesn't; etc.

I confess to getting a tingly feeling inside when I hear Phil say,
"The world is waiting.
Good luck.
Travel safe.
GO!!"
Yay, my favorite show is back!!!!!

Let's make this the official discussion thread.
Nick and Starr are HANDS-DOWN the best Eye Candy, regarding teams (love the army tanks). Terrence and Sarah (from NYC) are pretty interesting too (they look good, but have a tendency to be snarky).
If we're feeding on stereotypes, Nick isn't demonstrating the most hetero-minded behavior, but we love him anyway because he's a genuine Colgate boy and what wit! That one-liner: "He hasn't worked in customer relations" was hilarious
I'm liking the Mama-Son team too (well I am liking Dallas' biceps). And the two divorced business ladies (Christy and Kelly).
THE RACE IS ON!!!
Smart move for Nick and Starr (aka The Kids) to team-up with Ken and Tina (aka Mom and Dad). I'm feeling good energy there. It'll probably be mutual exclusive for both. Mom and Dad can have a common interest to put positive energy (instead of fighting), give them "kids" to want to be concerned for and work with. The Kids will have people to help make decisions and feel protected.
LOVED the aerial video shot of LAX
THIS SHOW IS JUST SO REMARKABLE! We get to travel vicariously all over the world with such awesome Americans. Plus, we get to spread our love of adventure all over the world. Already, I love how the local Brazilians are into helping and following the cameras. THE BIGGEST GAME ON THE BIGGEST GAMEBOARD!

My early favorites are the Mother/Son team, Nick and Starr, and the separated football player and his wife. Sorry, I'm really bad with names at this point in the game.
Actually, the only team I DON'T like right now is the two frat boys. Even the Geeks, who I usually never like, are all right so far.
The first gaffe of the season occurred when the woman asked her husband how to say "Go faster" or something in Spanish. She said, "You said you were going to learn those Spanish phrases." Someone needed to tell her that in Brazil, she needs to be speaking Portuguese, not Spanish.

All right, Nick is winning over ALL of the United States. He's just GOT this game. Not only is he demonstrating incredible sportsmanship, but he is expressing incredible love and care for his sister, endless positive reinforcement, and has a clear passion for the game and competition. Excited to read the clues, follows directions carefully, and is courteous along the way. Turns on the heat when it needs to be turned on, but turns it down when things should be calm.
Starr is a beautiful team member. They have a great relationship as brother and sister. She is very stunning and obviously enjoys the adventure. Spirited, youthful, and providing TV viewers someone to be excited for!
SPOILER: How completely obvious was it that clearly teams were going to be asked how many stairs they crawled-up? I mean, come on guys, you're on "Amazing Race." Get with the program!

In addition to the Frat Boys, I've decided I no longer like Terrence and Sarah, for some of their bizarre remarks. Sarah was mad at Nick and Starr because she said she was trying to make conversation with them, and they ignored her. It didn't exactly play out that way (it looked like she was just making a general sort of statement). Later, when they were climbing down the cargo net, Terrence told her she couldn't talk and climb, only he could, and that he would speak to the other team on her behalf. Very strange.
ETA...Were Meredith and Gretchen the last "old people" team to do really well????

"They didn't even say hi to me!"
Ahaha, I'm not a big fan of that couple (I can't remember names).

Happy to have another season of Amazing Race to enjoy!
I haven't figured out who I'm going to root for yet... but, am always sad for the first team eliminated.

Well, that little prance, uh, I mean dance in Central park during the bio videos looked pretty gay to me!
My early favorite team is mom and son Toni and Dallas, if for no other reason than the sweet peck on the cheek she gave him right before the race began.
As for Tina and Ken, well, let me just say, I'd have cheated on her, too.

I like Mom and Dallas, and the brother sister team as well (Nick and Starr right?).
Dallas is a little hottie.
Although what is up with the name Dallas? I mean it's a city. And Starr? Isn't that a character on OLTL?

Posted: 9/29/08 at 9:46amWhy can Eug say that Nick is showing non-hetero behavior but I can't link to a (BWW penned) article that devotes two paragraphs to how straight he is?

No, that's what was so bizarre. Also, it was not as if they were having a conversation and ignored her. They were all kind of standing around on the street, trying to get cabs, and Sarah remarked, "It's hard to get a cab here" to no one in particular. Nick and Starr Spangled Banner were doing their own thing. There was no eye contact made and never once did it seem as though they were in conversation.
Aja...Aja...where do I know her from? Is he a former Ms.USA or Ms.America contestant?
According to her bio on the CBS site, she is an "aspiring actress." No mention of modeling.

It looks like she's going to keep harping on that next week, too! She's a douchebag.

Ugh...that article on Nick is creepy! I dont care if he's gay or straight, but the author clearly does...why add a comment about his lack of body fat?
I hate the frat boys the most...easy...I cant believe they got the number of stairs right the second time...they were counting out loud and I was sure they'd mess each other up.

Which is exactly why her team won't win, or even do that well on the Race. Teams that are too concerned with their opponents and obsess over them never do well.

I have tried so hard to remove that woman from my memories, and now....it's just all come back again!!!!!
I'm trying to remember some of her more memorable quotes....there were a number of gems. I'll have to think about them.

I wrote that article about Nick Spangler, as well as the one about him and his sister.
I included the comment about his lack of body fat because: a) it was made by a female BWW board member and b) it gives the reader some sort of clue as to Nick's appearance. When I write these articles, I have no assurance about which photos will accompany the article and feel its essential to give the reader something to visualize.
Next question?
