The Amazing Race : Season 13 - Official Fan Thread

Posted: 10/27/08 at 3:54pmI tend not to think of racers or participants in any other reality show I watch as real people. I know that the shows are heavily edited with a specific end in mind. So, to me, "Nick & Starr" are just two TV characters who may be nothing like their real life selves. They may both be lovely people or even worse than they are being presented on here.

Posted: 10/27/08 at 4:04pmI have to agree with the board about not liking any of them. They are fun to watch. Esp. the bitchy girls (divorcees).

Posted: 10/27/08 at 4:38pmAAAHHH! I'm so annoyed, my cable company STILL hasn't reached an agreement with our CBS affiliate. Who got eliminated last night?

Quite true, but I hold that if someone followed me around with a camera all day, I'm sure I could be edited to be quite unlikeable!
(It might not even take that much editing!)
SF, it was Ty & Aja. They were put way behind by not getting on the same flight as all the others.

That's my point about Nick and Starr; I don't think it took much!

Nick and Starr are only mildly less irritating than the Divorcees. I'm beginning to understand why their husbands left them.
I'm also creeped out by Terrence and Sarah. She seems all right (other than being brainwashed by him), but he is just bizarre.
Toni and Dallas are still my favorites, by far. I, however, enjoy Ken and Tina a lot. There's something endearing about them.
I was glad to see the whiny, long-distance couple go. I've never understood the people who use the Race as "The Amazing Relationship Test."
I have a feeling we're in for a non-elimination leg next week. We're about due for one...

Well, I'm glad the first non-elimination leg occurred on a week one of my favorite teams finished last.
Quite depressing to see two teams I dislike finish 1 and 2.

Posted: 11/2/08 at 9:45pmYou're not going to believe this, but I was ironing my dining room drapes while watching tonight's episode!

Did you whine endlessly about it like the frat boys did and complain about how your mother always did the ironing???
By the way, I wish my mother still did my ironing when I was in college, even high school for that matter. I remember the time in 8th grade when I complained about my clothes not being ironed right, and that was the end of that. The next morning when I woke up for school I found the iron, ironing board, and my school uniform next to my bed. She never ironed for me again.

Who knew that "The Amazing Race" could be such a teaching tool?!? What did I learn tonight?
IF YOU HAVE NEVER IRONED DON'T DO A CHALLENGE WHERE YOU HAVE TO IRON.
I like those frat boys, but, boy, are they dumb!
Oh, and Starr and Nick in first again? Really?!? Ugh.

Posted: 11/2/08 at 11:17pmDoes anyone else get a creepy vibe from Nick and Starr? For siblings, they just seem a bit too close.

Yeah, I can see that.....
BTW, my cable company made up with the CBS affiliate, so I am able to see it again.

I just finished watching Season One, which I rented from Netflix. Why are only Seasons One and Seven out on DVD??? I'm addicted and I need more!
Has anyone here ever applied to be on the show? I think my best friend and I are going to try.

Nick and Starr in in first place yet again. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Am I the only one who finds Ken to be attractive? I mean, if his reconciliation with Tina doesn't work out, I'm definitely available!)

No, Ken's a good-looking guy. I can see the appeal.
OOOH sorry SPOILERS SPOILERS
Thank God Kelly and Christy are off my television. If I had to hear them whining about something one more time... My favorite was "They don't look like normal American straight power lines."

Yay the divorcees are gone! Thank god.
Am I the only one who likes Nick and Starr? I also love Ken and Tina and Toni and Dallas.
#94re: The Amazing Race
Posted: 11/10/08 at 11:33amI'm not a fan of Nick and Starr as they seem to play the "it's a game" card for mostly no real gain. I think they are good racers and a complimentary pair which will likely get them in the finale. They are just a little too proud that they dont care if anyone likes them...it seems fake or pathological. Still, I prefer them to the divorcees or the frat brothers. READ THE EFFING CLUE!!! How many times have both these teams read the clue wrong?! I did enjoy the paint throwing, especially when the person who wasnt doing the roadblock also got owned...HA! I loved how Pencilbrow's hair was green for the rest of the eppie!

Every leg of the Race so far has been won by one of two teams- either Nick/Starr or Ken/Tina.
I'm so happy the divorcees are finally gone. Their inability to read a clue completely has finally done them in. After having to watch them for 6 weeks, I completely understand why their divorcees. I actually feel sorry for their ex-husbands.
The other bottom-feeder team, the Frat Boys, should be out of there soon enough. And with that, we should have a very exciting, competitive final four. Despite my dislike of Nick/Starr and Terrence/Sarah, both are pretty good racers. As much as I want Toni/Dallas to win, I don't think they will.

OMG, the divorcees were SO on my nerves last night! I will jump on the "READ THE EFFING CLUE" bandwagon here! How many times did she have to go back?
And when they told their cab driver to leave, I knew it was doomsday for them.
#97re: The Amazing Race
Posted: 11/10/08 at 12:44pmYeah, you NEVER tell your cabbie to leave, even though he got them lost a bit, he's better than nothing.

Exactly.
They so deserved to be eliminated.
