The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen, might be the best thing I've ever read.
Put me down for "Olive Kittredge" as well. And also Hilary Mantel's "Wolf Hall."
I really haven't read too many books this year *sad face* but from what I DID read, I choose:
The Book of Lost Things - John Connolly
Broadway86, I absolutely LOVED The Corrections...that is in my list of favorite books as well!
@ picturetaker, if you liked The Kite Runner, you should definitely read A Thousand Splendid Suns.

The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb. It's been about five years since I read a novel as good as it.

"Dog Years" by Mark Doty.
It changed my life. Literally. And I mean "literal" in its literal meaning.
Steig Larsson's Millenium trilogy: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest.
Stockard - I loved A Thousand Splendid Suns! I found it superior to The Kite Runner.
I would also like to include Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit. Funny, devastating, and a little bit weird and whimsical, but a fun read from Jeannette Winterston.
I read The Road by Cormac McCArthy. I know it has been out for a while and there is now a movie of it. It hooked me and bothered me on so many levels.
