Anyone going to see this movie? I am going Friday to see it with my mom. I get creeped out just by watching the trailer. Very reminiscent (sp?) of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. Can't wait!!!!

Yes...love me some scary movies.

I just hope it doen's trun out to be like some ghost giving him signs to track down a serial killer, like the majority of horror movies today. I am SO tired of that plot.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I'll be seeing it with my son, but probably not this weekend. We love horror/slasher films.

The trailer for this is one of the scariest I have ever seen. Even if the movie sucks (which I'm hoping it won't), we'll always have the trailer to look to. Right? RIGHT?!

Yeah...okay...two words. White Noize.

Agreed, but this movie has more going for it than "White Noise".

What does it have going for it?

I'm looking forward to it...

Anything is better than the 'Secret Window' re-make with a kid, 'Hide and Seek'.

Okay, so who's going to see this with me on Friday? I want to go but I'm sure as sh*t not going by myself.

I don't know if this is another remake or not. I should check that out.

But if not Friday, than sometime this weekend. It just looks too scary to see by myself.

PEACE.

"What does it have going for it?"

Unlike the trailers for "White Noise" and "Hide and Seek", this one actually displays a movie that I have a really good feeling about. The cinematography and production design look exceedingly creepy. If the film is even remotely as good as the trailer suggests (think about it; we haven't even SEEN the Boogeyman yet) then it should be good.

And, considering I enjoyed the "Grudge" remake, it's got the support of Sam Raimi going for it.

HIDE AND SEEK was A-W-F-U-L! I am looking forward to BOOGEYMAN though. If you want to see a good suspense movie with a good twist - rent SAW when it comes out.

Ok, I just got back from seeing it and my final verdict:

If you want to see it, I would strongly suggest you waiting till it is on video.

It was really good with building suspense and there are lots of "Jump out at you" moments but the ending completely ruined it for me. It was so anti-climatic it wasn't even close to being funny and they left so many plot holes. The acting was actually impressive for a Horror movie but, again just wait until video if you want to see it.

what's the big secret in hide and seek that your friends aren't supposed to tell you? I like the new ad where it's like "don't find out what happens.." I hate scary movies because they always wind up being either really bad or funny, or both.

Was that a fat joke?

I have to go, but really quick.....

There is no "secret" at the end of THE BOOGEY MAN. Well, there is a little, and mean VERY little twist but nothing important. The ending was so quick and stupid after over an hour of building and building to it that it ruined the movie for me.

I didn't find a twist in it. Although it wasn't the greatest film, I found it better than the Grudge, White Noise, Gothika, and most horror films that have come out within the past couple of years. I wasn't disappointed as much with this one. I did get chills during two scenes (the one with the mother and the one with the children), and I felt the creaky eeriness of the house was chilling (it's always scarier when you don't see the thing that's making you scared.) I also liked the going out one door and coming through another thing.
My boyfriend did not like it. He felt it didn't go anywhere, nor did it explain much. What happened to his girlfriend???
My biggest problem are these films that save money by hiring European actors with REALLY BAD American accents and filming them in other countries, and then trying to pass them off as American made films. It was quite obvious, just by the exteriors that this was filmed elsewhere (New Zealand, i believe - but I'm saying that because Lucy Lawless had a cameo).
And Every single actor was faking their accent.
I know they do this for financial reasons, but, what's wrong with the actor's speaking in their native tongue. It would have been the same story had it been in America, or New Zealand.
Thank goodness for Cursed (the preview itself looks so much better than the whole Boogeyman film) and Constantine. At least we have better horror films to look forward to.

P.S. The little boy's voice at the beginning of the movie was obviously dubbed. You never saw him speak. Guess he wasn't good enough to fake an accent.
