Well, the guy who played Greg Brady was ridiculously good. Such a well-cast movie.
And it is further proof that Gary Cole is awesome in whatever he does, even if it isn't Office Space.

Posted: 1/19/06 at 1:23pmGreat...I even liked the sequel. Most of us had these images in our heads since early childhood so when we get an image like Jan swinging her long hair behind her like a metronome as she walks away, the laugh comes from deep within our subconsious.

Love it.
The actress who played Jan, who was on SNL I believe, is a riot.

Agreed!
I saw it again recently, and still laughed at it.
Very imaginative and the cast is first-rate.

The sequel is even better. That is actually me and my wife's movie. We don't have a song, but we have a movie. God, we are losers.

spiderdj82 --- That's hilarious that "your movie" with your wife is A VERY BRADY SEQUEL. Good God.
"Our movie" was Trainspotting... bleeccchhh. Cool film, but repulsive. It was our "first date" movie... which I think is pretty damn funny. Who in their right mind would go to THAT on a first date???
We did. But we can't watch it anymore, because it grosses us out. Ewan McGreggor's head in a filthy toilet??? I mean, come on.

this is easily one of my all time favorites.
the girl who played "jan" wasn't on snl at all, that was someone else.
the movie was perfectly cast.
i couldn't get over how much christine taylor actually looked like maureen mccormick, even down to her voice and mannerisms.
both movies are genius and two of the best tv-to-movie adaptations EVER.

Christine Taylor was SCARY!!!! And kudos to Shelley Long for giving the tour-de-force we all knew she had in her.
The only thing missing from the sequel: Jean Smart, baby.

Melanie Hutsell was cast as a featured cast member of SNL soon after she toured as Jan in "The Real Live Brady Bunch" which was a reenactment of BB scripts. They were a riot and she was a standout in the cast (because Jan is, of course, a freak.)
Jennifer Elise Cox was Jan in the movies and was also terrific parodying everyone's favorite Jan, Eve Plumb.

I'm listening to Good Time Music on YouTube right now. Spider isn't the only one here who is/was addicted to A Very Brady Sequel. I loved the first film and was surprised to find the sequel even smarter than the original (a feat only accomplished by Addams Family Values imo).
Only disappointment: That they didn't film a new Brady Theme sequence for the sequel. I was looking forward to seeing Carol exchange her flip for a very short bob, a la the 1973-1974 season of the series.

Posted: 5/28/06 at 6:33pmI need to watch the sequel sometime soon. The first one is funny for the first 2/3..and then the last 1/3 is pretty hard to watch.

Posted: 5/28/06 at 6:38pmThe sequel is just a better film on an aesthetic level (colors, angles, etc). It's a shame it was only a modest box office success compared to the original.

Posted: 5/28/06 at 6:59pmI thought that this and the sequel were SO funny. They really pinpointed what made the original show so funny (and stupid). Perfectly cast, too.

Posted: 5/28/06 at 9:55pmAgain . . . I FREAKIN' LOVE the sequel. I agree that the first one was funny, but go a little tedius (sp?) as it went on, but the sequel is PERFECTION!
