Does anyone have a cappies program in their area? If so, what have you been nominated for this year?

Nope, but I have a friend in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida who's school is a part of Cappies. I have no idea about any nominations though.

My school got nominated for 4 in the NCA area - best featured actor and actress, best orchestra, and best tech. I was part of the ensemble critics choice from our school, but we didn't end up getting nominated, obviously.
The gala is also the day of our graduation, which is pretty much a logistical nightmare.

It's alright, not a lot of people know what they are. They're awards given out to outstanding high school plays and musicals.

I'm also in the NCA. We got nominated for ensemble in a play,comic actress in a play, and graduating critic

I'm a NCA critic! Alas, my school didn't recieve any nominations. Also, the gala is the night of the Tony awards.

We're really trying to get our drama teacher to sign us up for the Cappies in the St. Louis for next year. Too bad we weren't signed up this past year, we had an AMAZING production of Les Miz with an outstanding senior class. Not to mention that this past year was the first year for the St. Louis Cappies, so there were only (according to the website) only something like 6 schools last year.

I'm an NCA critic too, and I'll be PERFORMING at the Gala.
We did Auntie Mame (I was Babcock) and we got nommed for Returning Critic, Sets, Stage Crew, Costumes, Featured Actress in a Play, Lead Actress in a Play, and Best Play.

I was Lead Cappie in High School in the NCA - it was a lot of fun. It's what got me into non-fiction writing. *sigh* Theatre and Writing, what could be better!? I miss it...
