I am a big fan of Stephen Colbert, and I'm going to see a taping of the show this evening. Has anyone done this, and can you offer any advice? Where to sit? When to arrive? Any help is appreciated.

If you are already on the list you're supposed to get there around 5. You have to go through a metal detector and a lot of times if you have certain large packages or bags you will be asked to leave them with security, so I'd bring as few personal belongings as possible. You do not get to choose where you sit. The audience is allowed in based on what color ticket you have. Red is reserved and blue is stand-by. The audience co-ordinator designates where you will sit.

I hope for your sake Pete Dominick is still the warm-up act. He does a great bit about the microwave that's on the set.
