Mamie, here's what I do for the kids:

1. Sparking water and cranberry juice (when they're in the mood for a Kir Royale

2. White Grape Juice and Seltzer OR just plain Ginger Ale (when they want their "champagne" straight)

3. Regular Grape Juice and Seltzer (when they have a hankering for a fine Pinot Noir)

I also know how to make a lot of "mocktails." I don't need alcohol to have fun. If I did, I'd be drinking all day, everyday!

I also do not need alcohol to have fun. Alcohol just makes me sleepy and we all know that Miss P keeps late hours and who wants to miss any late night fun by going to bed! Labor Day sounds like a good plan. Not sure I could make it but you never know!

Rath, sorry to be so oblique. I have been doing an informal poll of which anti-perspirants people use because I am on a quest to identify a good one. I find keeping my mind preoccupied with stupid, frivolous pursuits like this one balances out my usual obsession with analyzing the motivation of humankind and making sense of a world gone mad.

Which kind do you use...and do you like it?

I use whatever is clear and a stick. I try not to use the same one over and over again, as your body can get used to it and stop working.

And I have nothing against going sans-deo, as long as you're clean, shower every day and wash your clothes.

DD, very good points. I completely forgot about how your body gets used to something and it's no longer effective. I'm a tad obsessed with this right now because I'm leaving for France in a few days. I want to be packed and ready to go by Saturday.

Mamie, I am not a Spamalot fan, so I'm not at all excited about the return engagement.

I'm just happy I got to see Mame 3 times.

DD gets to see Norbert in DRS. Good for you!

Rathy, I'm so glad you got my message. I was wondering if you did.

I can't believe I'm leaving in only a few days. It's kinda surreal.

I have to email my friends in France and find out how much Internet access I'm going to have. Of course, once I get over the jet lag, I'll be posting at 2 AM France time, which will only be 8 PM here. I won't even recognize anybody who's on the board at that hour!
