Oh I know DD, I think it is just the magnatude of the change. Graduation, new city, new job, etc.... I am looking forward to it though. Poor DC though, imagine what will happen when we can get together on a more regular basis?

The invitation is "out there" (so I can't take it back!)
For the first time in years, we are not going to be in NYC over the holidays, so YES, MAMIE, let's organize a gathering at my house.
People, PM me your dates of availabilty!
Whatever kind of martinis you want will be waiting...as long as you let me know the ingredients that are needed!

Just catching up on this thread....
miss pennywise- nice to "see" you again too. Summer has been good but busy. I was able to get a few days off to have some fun in London (read: see shows) while I was there for work, so it was a nice treat.
Would like to see you all again too over the holidays.
Agree on Roundhouse Theatre- I saw a fabulous production of "Once on This Island" there a year or so ago. I know they will be staging Summer of '42 in the future.
Off to see "In the Continuum"

Bethesda, Maryland...right outside Washington DC. Come down and see it, Brd! Our babysitter can watch your kids at my house while we go with the domestic partners. (Our babysitter is great...she's in her 50s and has a grown daughter. The kids ADORE her. She is like family to us.

Posted: 9/3/06 at 12:30pmI caught Orson's Shadow in NY during it's run. I loved it. Austin Pendleton came out after the show and sat on stage with his guest, Peter Bogdanovich. They chatted for more than an hour about Bogdanovich's old friend, Orson Wells. It was a GREAT night of theatre!

They have a Roundhouse in Downtown Silver Spring, too.

Yes, Atrias is correct! The Roundhouse in Silver Spring is a small "black box" theatre with bleacher seating. I have seen a couple of excellent productions there.
Their homebase, however, is the Bethesda facility, which is a much larger, traditional theatre space...and relatively new. (The site opened about 3 years ago, but the company has been around for years.)
"Orson's Shadow" will be produced at the Bethesda site.

Don't worry, DD, we're taking you to see "A Broadway Christmas Carol" even if you don't want to.
Just read that Hunter Foster's musical adaptation of "Summer of '42" is going to produced at the Roundhouse in the Spring. They're also doing "The Little Prince" (non-musical) in the Fall.

WST (Wildwood Summer Theatre) did "Cabaret" at BCC High School in Bethesda this summer and that was really good. Not professional but never the less, they do some good shows every year. Plus, the high schools are here do really good shows as well. Sure it's not professional but for high schools, some of them are very well done...
Oh, and Piazza tickets... can't wait! I'm definitely buying mine the day they go on sale <3

Back to the organizing...
How does December 27th look for everyone? It's a Wednesday night.
I'm thinking a traditional French winter dish (okay, it's really Swiss): Raclette.
DD doesn't leave the area until December 28.
(I'm figuring AFTER Xmas is better than BEFORE for everyone.)
