Also, Kathy, it would be nice to know who the 100 people you surveyed are. Gays? Blacks? Asian? Christian? Was this part of the questionnaire? Because if all you asked were say, gay or lesbian people is it any wonder that the Christians rated so low?
I predict (because MY science fair project was "Telling the Future: Real or Hoax" and I got an A+) a failing mark on this project. For someone who "couldn't go anywhere, and constantly worrying and working" you sure spent a lot of time on BWW!

guess the whole little sermon about the importance of having a CONTROL group in that other thread was largely ignored, huh?
KGLY, if you had this advice 2 mths before and still, from the looks of it, produced the same exact unimproved questionnaire.....
Ignore what I said previously, this is actually what I meant...
"Congrats! *pats on back* Your two mth ordeal is over (unlike mine, sobs), now get to those rhinestones, girl, and go out with a flourish! Good luck and do post pics of your board!"

"Let's say I disliked gays because of their seemingly wrong value system, that doesn't mean I would not speak to them."
Wow.
That sounds just like every other bigot I know who had gay 'friends' but voted yes on 8.
Just saying....

Good morning all!
I am in 7th grade.
And wha-what is this? On the first page of this thread? MY RESUULTS?!?! WHAAA?!
'Oh well if you are so interested it had VERY cool results-
Devoted Christians are hated MORE than atheists and gays COMBINED'
Amaaaazing. And I know this isn't technically science but my teacher said it met the requirements so I can just go for it.
I set up my board last night. It is stunning. I'll try and figure out that whole 'posting picture thing' in a second.
GUESS WHAT? THERE'S A TYPO IN THE TITLE!! AAAARGH!!

Exactly, theatrediva. The very same bigot that will show up on Kathy's result as 'gay friendly'

That figures.
Only a 12 year old would use rhinestones and glitter on a sceince project abou t how much people hate each other.
Can this be moved to the student board, please?

Fleur,
Like this charmer?
Who sent out this message about me:
"I am saddened by what XXX XX has chosen to post about me on his facebook. I am taking action as I am NOT going to stand for this slander to be posted on a public website. The proper people have been notified, including those at facebook, as I am not going to take such oppression. But I want to say to those of you who care about me and who I care about very deeply, that hopefully you all know me well enough to know that that is just HATE coming from a hateful person. It's ironic that I am called "the face of hate" by someone who posted such a picture. I just want to make clear that my political opinions reflect in no way how I feel about my homosexual friends, or homosexual people in general, and if you know me, you know this to be true"
I love her last line, about her 'homosexual friends', even though she did vote yes on 8.
Kathy,
12-13, no big differece. This should be on the student board.

How does not wanting to talk to someone = hating them??? There are some groups of people, who you may not be familiar with, that you would feel uncomfortable talking to. Some people are shy and only feel comfortable talking to people they know well. Does that mean they hate those people, if they wouldn't talk to them? I think you are assuming hatred is the reason, when there could be other factors.

you know theatrediva, as sanctimonious as her actions and words are coming across, I don't actually blame her. Clearly her identities are in flux.
I believe it is possible that her interaction with her gay friends have led her to conclude that they are in fact no different from any of her other heterosexual friends but her religion constrains her and forces her to take a stand against homosexuality. I agree there are plenty of people like that, who appear to be all self righteous because they 'condone' homosexuality; but I think their minds are still being fettered by the dogma of religion and it's hard to blame them.

She de-friended some of the chorus boys because they disagreed with her on Prop 8.
She calls them 'friend' and smiles to their face and then votes to strip them of their rights. Then she whined about me 'oppressing' her. I guess she has no idea what that word means.
I found out later that everyone hated her anyway...

I'm not LGBT myself but I never understood why people couldn't accept LGBT as part of society. It's inevitable that LGBT will be naturalised in our society, even if it takes the next 200 years... Look at civil rights, women's rights, who would have thought them possible in their times? But look at how far we have come since?
I agree that people like your friend are amongst the most dangerous ppl in the struggle for LGBT rights. You can argue with the outright critics and make the debate a public affair which allows for it to be judged in the open. People like your friend however, will attempt to cover the real issue with supposed tolerance, and the tolerance is much more harmful to the LGBT community than any outspoken critic.
Which brings me to the whole issue about the term gay rights.... but that's too long a story to tell....
All i can say is, while I'm happy that gay marriage is finally available to gays in California, I do implore you rmb that the pedestal is as much a prison as any other.

Fleur and Diva, you are IGNORING the RESULTS! It is the CHRISTIANS that are hated, not the Gays. This was proven in Kathy's 7th grade bejeweled sub-con-science project.
PEACE.

Becuase your posts belong on the student board.
That what it's there for.
If you aren't getting enough attention there, it's because no one cares.

I wasn't ignoring the results! I was postulating with theatrediva the reason why Christians are hated more than gays and I have concluded it is because of their anti-gay stance that's why Christians are hated more than gays, BY GAYS!
Woot. How's that for a kick-ass hypothesis?
