"Exactly. It's like a son you didn't think would amount to anything. You don't like the way he's made his money, but at least he's doing well. You'd rather he'd become a lawyer or doctor, but he owns a casino."
---- Ricky Gervais on the NBC version of The Office.
I personally have been getting a bad "jumping the shark" vibe the past few episodes...it was never meant to go on this long...the hilarity and absurdity in the minutiae...I am become more and more aware of storylines...primarily Jim/Pam.

I wonder if Michael knew about the holiday this past week
International "That's What She Said" Day

Posted: 2/17/07 at 5:09pmI couldn't disagree more about it jumping the shark - this last week's episode was one of the funniest half hours of tv I've seen. The storylines are needed to frame the episode and keep some viewers tuned in, but as long as they do things like Jim as a vampire or Michael giving a speech like that, I'll be watching. The vampire thing had me in tears it was so funny.

Lasst night was AMAZING! Totally great. I love that Jan is just using Michael for sex. it's hilarious!
And I'm not saying that Michael shouldn't be in the show, though I disagree that he makes the whole show--I think that the supporting cast "makes" the show, as it tends to be with most comedies--I just think that sometimes what he says is so over-the-top that it's not funny and I just have to cover my eyes and say "Oh my God." For some people, that might make the show more funny, but for me it's sometimes too painful to watch. I think they should just have him tone down some of the things he says. Besides, if ou watch all he episodes in a row, his shtick gets really old really fast.

Posted: 2/26/07 at 11:18amI just have to go on the record and say that I thought last weeks episode was hilarious. Melora Hardin totally stole the show. The "That's what she said" part was priceless as was her "interview" with the camera where she lists the upsides and downsides of dating Michael in public. And I won't even go into the whole bathroom scene.

Welcome back, the Office. OHHHHH how I missed you. Jim's reaction to seeing Dwight and Angela was priceless, as was Ryan and Kelly's banter.
And Michael in his MISSterious suit, with the hot pink lining. And withholding sex from Jan if he didnt' get a raise..and...Dwight pepper spraying Andy...and....sigh...I love this show!

For me, Toby stole the show:
"If Michael put Ryan in here with Kelly to punish me, he's a genius."
Then, he chooses driving to new York with Michael over spending another minute near Ryan and Kelly.
And finally, "I'm taking notes for the deposition when the inevitable lawsuit happens."
