I'm still Claire (unfortunately) and my parents didn't completely fill out the summer school registration forms, and they were due last week. So now I have to to turn them in tomorrow because my parents are stupid.ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!
...and I hate school. A lot.
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

I finally turned in my summer school papers. And chased a killer cat out my house.

I need to present a Shakespeare scene on Thursday and I don't know what a good costume would be since I'm playing a modern Hamlet.

Hi, i'm Sarah and I leave rehearsal frustrated every night because my director gives me line readings and defines my character for me and the stage manager tries to direct.

re: The Official 'I have a problem.' Thread

Hi, My name is Kayla and I can never get to Chicago (or NYC, but that goes without saying) to see the shows I want to see.

I have to go to Vegas and LA this upcoming week, and I have to miss youth group twice, and that ticks me off.

Someone I know is a complete home-wrecker, and I still have to show them respect, which is extremely hard.

I can't dance, but even though I want to go to dance classes, I don't have time.

I want to take voice lessons, but I don't have the money for it.

I'm going to Costa Rica for 3 weeks for an exchange program, and that means I can't get a job anywhere, because they want people all summer.

I want to be a music teacher, but my mom says I can do more with my life.

I want to do Broadway, but that probably won't happen any time soon.

re: The Official 'I have a problem.' Thread

Hi, I'm Jessika...

I live in Western Kentucky... which really sucks because I am surrounded by a bunch of rednecks who care nothing about theatre, so I don't have much to work with... EVER!

I work at a local grocery store. I feel like the dirt that people walk on while working there. What makes me really really really really mad when working there is when people walk up with Coach, Channel, Louis Viton, Dooney & Burke or Armani purses, totes, wallets, jewlry etc... all nice brand name clothes such as Tommy and Ralph Lauren and give me a food stamp card to play for their food.

UGHHHHHHHHHHH!

But, aside from all this non-sense, the biggest thing that has been on my mind lately is that I am caught in the middle of a love triangle... the only problem is... the other two people don't know it yet.

Yay for me!

re: The Official 'I have a problem.' Thread

My name is still Jan, and I have TOO MUCH STUFF TO WATCH. Even unemployed, I'm finding it hard to find all the time I need to watch all the 'Six Feet Under' I have, I have to break every now and then for 'Doctor Who' and 'House', I have no idea when I'm going to get caught up on 'Battlestar Galactica', and I've got so much 'Oz' that I can't even process it enough to add it to my "must watch" list.

Sucks to be me, huh? re: The Official 'I have a problem.' Thread I guess my major issue is: do I carry on with 'Six Feet Under' (two seasons down, three to go), or do I take advantage of the fact I'm at a natural break in the series and catch up with 'Battlestar Galactica' before I get to a place where I have too much of that to contemplate an' all?

re: The Official 'I have a problem.' Thread

Kayla, its ok...two years ago I was stuck writing a 15 page paper on geothermal energy instead of watching the tonys, which sucked because it was the year the sweeney todd revival performed and I had gotten cast in it for that summer. It does suck balls. BUT, small ones...that was so inappropriate.

ANYWAYS...I came on here to say:

My name is Julia, and I brought a senior boy who liked me to junior prom and the next day he started going out with a senior girl just because she was another senior. And now, a month later, I actually think thats going to last. Good times. Going to go burn the corsage that's been on my piano for a month.

re: The Official 'I have a problem.' Thread

I'm Liz. There are no appropriate comedic monologues for me in the whole wide world. I'm in the middle of packing up my life and moving two hours south for this career and yet they do not make comedic monologues for 16-year-old character actresses. Scenes? Sure. Monologues, no.

I am also torn between auditioning for a production of Urinetown two hours away and quite possibly spending the summer doing that, or actually enjoying my last blast of freedom before starting college and growing up and all of that great stuff.

Also, I can't find a single reliable site that will allow me to watch old episodes of Will & Grace online, nor do I want to go out and buy the DVDs, despite the fact that it's been my favorite show for four years and this is probably not going to change anytime soon.

Oh, and as much as I adore my commercial agent, he hasn't sent me out on anything in a llllooonnnggg time due to the crappy state the business is in at the moment. On Saturday I had a dreadful meeting with a theatrical agent who basically told me that he only takes extremely pretty people who usually can't act their way out of a Trader Joe's bag. I need to lose ten pounds. I wish I didn't like to eat.

The end. =)
