^Exactly. I really AM glad that they called out Adam's management, because what they did WAS ridiculous.
But it's just not right to blame ADAM for it.
And, you know, I guess it depends on what the motives actually were for it, but I think there's a way in which the Details shoot was pretty darn bold. If they were doing it just to make the straight girls go even more crazy and start thinking there's hope, then that's kind of silly. But I also think that in a way it was making a statement about how quick we tend to be in boxing people in. Adam's very much about
not conforming- to
any stereotype or expectation. So in a way the Details shoot was kind of saying "why CAN'T a gay man do a sexy photoshoot with a woman? Does that make him any less gay in reality?"
So yeah.. again, it depends what the motives behind the shoot actually were. But I like to think they were doing it to make a point. And in a way, it wouldn't have been as big a thing if he'd done the same thing with a guy because that's what people would
expect. In fact, we already HAVE those pictures, from reality :P So what he did in Details just made people think a little bit, and not be so quick to box him in as "the gay guy"- even though he IS no less gay than he was before he did the shoot, and he fully acknowledges that.
aaanyway, about the MUSIC:
I have been listening to it waaaay too much already haha. The entire thing. Perfection. Fever is most definitely a stand out <3 And Sure Fire Winners. And Pick U Up is awesome too (the BRIGE in that song, gah). And all the slow songs are soooo beautiful.
It's just an all together thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining CD!
I kinda really want Fever to be the second single. Just imagine if it got super popular and got to the top of the charts- how awesome would it be to say "the number 1 song in the country right now is sung by a guy, opening with 'there he goes, my baby walks so slow, sexual tic-tac-tow' and going on to talk about 'silly menage a trois'"? XD Also it's just one of the most awesome songs on the album hehe
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
