I actually LOVE Adam's Fever. A ton. hehe
It definitely took me a little while to get used to because I love the vintage feel of the demo, and Adam's isn't like that, but his VOICE in it is just so much fun! So much sass and attitude- it makes me happy :P
How can one guy sound like a different voice on every track?
IKR? The man is a vocal chameleon. It's kind of crazy that he can do so much with his voice.
"I'm glad the whole thing isn't like FYE, because I really don't know if I like it."
Me to!!
Adam's album just went up for pre-sale at midnight and just hit #1 on the pop album charts. GO ADAM!
Nice! I'd read that FYE (single) isn't doing very well on itunes so I hope his album does waaaaay better.
It's doing better today
FYE # 18 - Pop. #29 on the overall song chart. RCA could do a little promo though. Seems Adam's twitter account is doing all the work.

Soooo happy about the itunes charting!!
People were all ready to starting doubting his ability to sell, but all he needed was a little real promo :P
Though, I'm not gonna lie.. it kiinda makes me slightly sad that he hasn't gone above 10 at all, but like.. I really can't complain haha. #10 is awesome!! And he's still #1 in pop!

OMG, 2:00+ previews of 5 of the songs from the album!!! (they're from a site called hitpredictor.com, and they're kind of chopped weirdly- there's basically 3 different clips for each song preview). But it gives you a MUCH better idea of each song!!
If I Had You, Music Again, and Pick U Up:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4DoeSvsG7c
Sleepwalker and Whataya Want From Me:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCv2tLKDCJg
Still not a fan of If I Had You chorus wise, but the verses ROCK! Music again is my FAV OMG. Sooooo good!! SO Mika-esque, so amazing Very very 80s throwback, but GOOD 80s throwback! Pick U Up is alright.. prob my least favorite of the bunch over all, but not bad. Sleepwalker NEEDS to be the next single. Like, no question about it. It's got Top 40 Radio written ALL over it. Whataya Want From Me is a tad bit cheesy, but stil very pretty!
I'm sooo freaking excited for this album!!! <3 I mean, the fact that If I Had You, Pick U Up, and Whataya Want From Me are probably the three I was least enthused about, and they're STILL really not bad at all, is so exciting!! And Music Again and Sleepwalker are SO DAMN GOOD
Spin Magazine gives it 3 1/2 stars, I think that's pretty strong for them.

I love, love, love Music Again!
RCA was really smart, I think they were reading the comments of the snippets and released longer previews of the songs that weren't instantly received. You know the other songs will be great. And really smart to chop the songs up so no illegal downloading of the whole song before the release.
I can't wait to see what he does on the AMA's! This Rollingstone article he's thinking 1930s Hollywood, but not sure if that will be for the video or AMA performance.
Oh and Lady Gaga's Poker Face director is doing the FYE music video. :)

^I LOVE that Rolling Stone interview as a whole. I don't even know why, I just really liked the questions and the answers he gave :) And the fact that he has such a potty mouth and will just throw in f-bombs wherever even if they're not that necessary makes me laugh teehee
But yeah, the 1930s Hollywood idea has me SO excited! Like, I never would have thought of that for For Your Entertainment, and yet I could see it working SO awesomely if they do it right! I hope they do something along those lines for the AMA performance as well. It would give it a definite funky, theatrical, glam vibe without it being toooo glittery sparkly "alien from Planet Fierce" glam. :P It could be like an updated Cabaret type feel, which will be KICK ASS
kind of something along the lines of this (but even a little more glammed up/provocative):
<3
Oh and yes, Music Again is SO MUCH LOVE. I like.. am addicted to it already. haha. Which is funny because based on the 30 second clip alone I thought it seemed cool, but it wasn't one of my favs. But I FLOVE the rest of the melody and stuff!!

Oohhhh YES, he kept the gendered lyric in Fever :P
From a person who has the whole album for review's twitter-
grahamorama: Fever will be a focal point... lyrics about threesomes, opens with the line "there he goes, my baby walks so slow." Gokey fans will freak
about 1 hour ago from web
I mean I figured he would, but I wasn't sure if maybe he'd gender neutralize it cause he tends to like gender neutralization I think. But it makes me happy he kept it. Right when I first heard the demo I was like "oooh, talkin' about boys right off the bat! He needs to be keeping that just the way it is" And he did! So yay <3

Bumpin' once more because two more full songs are out! Whataya Want From Me which is obviously on the album, and Master Plan which is an itunes bonus track
http://mjsbigblog.com/adam-lambert-new-songs.htm
Whataya Want From Me is SUPER super beautiful and I love it <33 It seemed a little lackluster based on the clips, but as a whole so wonderful, and the lyrics are gorgeous! DEFINITELY very clear that it's a Pink-written song. And that's a good thing. She's a great songwriter!
Master Plan is fun :P I didn't love it on the first listen, but it's def growing on me haha. It's damn catchy
They just used Adam's version of Mad World on General Hospital!
Congrats Adam!!

WHOLE ALBUM. STREAMING. ON MYSPACE.

This is the first album I have heard in a LONG time where I can honestly say that I love every. single. song. It's TRULY an incredible album. His voice is PERFECTION. As fun as the clips were, the full songs are SO MUCH BETTER. I just... I'm sooo flaily right now hehe I just can't get over how much I ADORE this album!!!
I can't even really pick a favorite. Maybe Fever, just cause it's soooo kick ass, but like.. almost every other song comes a close second! LOL

Definitely some filler, but the good songs are better than I was expecting. Gonna have to reserve judgment for clearer tracks. Overly produced pop tracks don't hold up to muddy sound quality as well as real music rock or acoustic arrangements.
Well being an Adam fan today is better than yesterday with that Out editor **** storm..
Broken Open is stunning. Truly beautiful. Fever is so cool. Pick U Up is great, love the laugh at the end. And Orianthi on Sleepwalker, woah!
For a rushed Idol debut, this is quite good.
The vocals on Pick U Up are amazing.

It's now up on Facebook too, and it has Music Again yayy! (for some reason that one didn't show up on Myspace haha)
Anyway, yeah, I'd say I'm still not quite aaaas big on FYE (even though I do love it and it IS one of the only dance songs I can actually stand haha) and If I Had You (verses are awesome, chorus is still too disco :P). And Sleepwalker, as good as it is (and I actually think it would make a perfect single), for some reason I just can't into it quiite as much as the others.
But the fact that even those songs I wouldn't SKIP over is truly impressive to me.
Yeah, it's nothing new or groundbreaking or anything like that (honestly, no Idol alum debut is ever going to be), but it's thoroughly enjoyable the entire way through for me, and certainly MY favorite Idol debut ever! Plus his voice is just RIDICULOUS. Like... gahh on the ballads it's so insanely gorgeous, and in the other ones there's just no limit to it! Like Pick U Up.. it just builds and builds and builds! haha (and that laugh at the end up PUU is SO CUTE)
If you tend to go way more for "legit rock" or very real, acoustic types then this album probably isn't for you haha. It just isn't that sound.. Adam is all about the electronic production. While there's only a couple songs on there I would classify as DANCE music, there's definitely fairly heavy electronic production on.. all the songs, really. But it's cool, it's really well produced, and it doesn't overpower his incredible voice at all! :)
"Well being an Adam fan today is better than yesterday with that Out editor **** storm.."
I wonder how he's going to respond to above mentioned storm??

I'm going to come out of hiding on BWW to post about this.
BRAVO, Adam... bravo.

I liked most of his response, except "guess ya gotta get attention for the magazine". Every time someone criticizes him he accuses them of just doing it for attention. That reflects badly on Adam, like he's overestimating his fame and his answer to everything is "ya'll jus jellus". The second part of the message is certainly a good point, though.
I knew I shouldn't have listened to the Facebook/MySpace rip of this album. Now I'm torn between listening again, and waiting for a copy that doesn't sound terrible. I especially want to hear a clear version of A Loaded Smile.
The whole album has leaked and dang, it's fantastic. I'm really liking it. Much much better than Kris Allen's debut which only had a handful of good songs.
Very true. I'm much more inclined to listen to Adam's For Your Entertainment over Kris' Kris Allen. I LOVE every song on Adam's album. Kris' album has 3 or 4 that I'll listen to sometimes.
It helps that Adam's music is more my thing right now.

GOOD FOR HIM <3
That whole thing made me so angry. Don't get me wrong, I doubt that Out would outright lie, and I DO appreciate that they called attention to 19E's homophobic and offensive actions. That I have no problem with.
But the WAY the editor went about it was just pathetic and disrespectful. Instead of focusing on what should have been the important part- the actions of 19E that are offensive and homopic- he turned the whole thing on ADAM, and made it about the fact that Adam should be "leading the fight for the gay community". Which just COMPLETELY risrespected every single thing Adam expressed in the interview!! He does not WANT to be the poster boy for the gay cause because he doesn't believe in defining himself by his sexuality. Which I happen to think is incredibly wise, and certain people in the gay community would do well to take a page from his book. But even aside from that, the fact is that Adam has a clear set of convictions in terms of how he wants to approach this political stuff that's been thrown at him, and the editor completely disrespected that.
To call out 19E for homophobic actions? That's good. To try and turn it on Adam as if he's the one advocating for it, and suggest that it's his obligation to be a pioneer for the gay cause? That's just not cool, and placing a totally unfair burden on him.
For anyone who's actually READ the interview (unlike the editor, clearly), they'd see that it's not like Adam is just totally afraid to get at all political. No, he IS standing for something and he DOES have clear reasons as to why he doesn't want to get into the politics of it all. And of course part of it is that he doesn't want to start alienating needed fans- that's perfectly understandable. I mean come on, he's one of the first American celebrities to START off his career already being out! That alone is a very brave thing. It makes sense that it would be in his interest to play it safer for a bit while he's still working on building his fan base. But it's also because his entire outlook on the issue is that it should BE a thing. That people shouldn't feel the need to box themselves in and create this exlusive gay community- instead people should just focus on being a human community. And certain parts of the gay community (and maybe even some straight people too) may not like that that's his viewpoint, but it is and they should at least respect it as such.
It's just sad that after Adam gave this INCREDIBLE long, insightful, raw, open-book interview (seriously, he poured his heart out about many things that most people would NOT have had the guts to go into), and how did they repay him? By calling him out on something that was in NO way his fault!!
/rant. haha
