Tink, don't tease us.
On Monday I was standing back away from the crowd holding my playbill and camera - I felt like such a dork. This mom next to me was like "yeah... you ain't gettin in there..."
I was like thanks so for sharing.
i'd expect us to all act nice & not swarm him. so i HOPE we wouldn't do the opposite. I have such high expectations for all of us lol. i'm sure we'd all squeeeeelll and poor boobs wouldn't be able to lift his arms the next day if he came but, all in all i think he'd be safer with us than in that mob scene
I just can't imagine EVER being like that. When I was younger, I was too intimidating to pull any of that crap. And now that I'm older and less intimidated, I get excited and I'm a little shy, but I'm still totally composed.
Aw, cute pictures!
There really was no point of trying to get in there, so I just took pictures of what was going on. I've never seen anything like that before and can't imagine that I will. What surprised me was that these girls' parents were just standing by watching this. My mother would've had me by the hair and out of there so fast if I ever acted like that.
that's what I meant by opposite. People would expect us to scream and attack, and well for some of us grope, but I think at least with the regulars around here, there would actually be really good conversation going and be pretty mellow.
But of course wouldn't mind if groping was still involved!
I love the pictures on the main page!
I can't go all out fangirly, either. A few weeks ago I went to a concert with my friends, and figured this out. I'm too shy, I guess.

lol, groping.
When I was a fangirl back in the day, I never had the opportunity to meet the performers or stagedoor. When you're at a concert, it's expected that you'll scream when people come out. But here, when they are 2 feet in front of you, I would think it's embarrassing to act like some of these people do. I don't want to be like ADAM TAKE A PICTURE WITH ME AHHHHHHHH. Not that he'd remember who I was or anything, but I'd like to retain a little self respect, lol.
I took pics of the crowd too. I was glad I got some of Adam, thanks to the good zoom on my camera.
sigh
Heh, my mom too, Jenna. When I was younger and would -- literally -- hide behind her, she'd tell me to go and be more aggressive if I wanted anything from the actors. But she would never stand for THAT kind of behavior -- and yet there are mothers who encourage it!
I had a my old POS camera with me on Tuesday (the one that broke when I was trying to get my picture with Jesse at the Met show), so I had no hope. But this upcoming Tuesday I will have my really good camera and should be able to get good shots from the back. However, my best friend really has no inhibitions and she knows how much I like Adam, it would not surprise me if she drags me to the front of the barricades. I would not want to be the fangirl that tried to get in her way!
Hopefully towards the end of their run things will calm down a bit. I'm sure that's wishful thinking on my part, but maybe some of these crazy fans will have to go back to school? Or perhaps the Nederlander will figure out a better system to keep everyone safe? It seems unfortunate that a lot of fans (like all of you, for example) who just want to say a quick hello to Adam and Anthony and maybe get their Playbill signed aren't able to because of some pushy people.
Hehe, Tink was the one telling me to take pictures and not worry about other people. I thank her for allowing my inner fangirl to come out a little bit! That's half the fun. I'm not quiet at all, but in crowds like that, I usually stand back and watch.
hehe, and you were saying I was a bad influence!!! :) I was so proud when you went up to the street taxi guy for the picture!
I was like "Just point it at one of the blonde guys!"
No one's really said this yet, but not having seen Adam on stage in so long, I forgot how big his voice can be. I was getting used to that more subdued sound that he has at his gigs. I'll admit at being a little disappointed at BB Kings, so I was so happy to hear that his voice was still in top shape and could really fill the house. It was like, ahh, now this is what I fell in love with. He can still give me shivers.
I agree, Jenna. Hearing him fill up that theater was just... perfect.
i was surprised at the difference between the OBC recording of Rent and the soundtrack recording too. i got the soundtrack first and then got the cast recording a month or so later. I have to say his voice is so much fuller on OSG on the CR than the ST.

I love his voice in the film soundtrack. I'm not crazy about all the arrangements, but his Glory is amazing.
I would so not do any of this with my mom. When I was younger I literally used to hide behind me mom too - she's much more outgoing than I am. At the Company stagedoor and at BB Kings I saw so many younger girls who were there with their moms, and the mom was like "Go, get an autograph, get a picture!" I was so happy that wasn't me anymore, lol
There are too many things I don't like about the OST, his voice being over produced on most of the songs is one of them.
Hehe, did he even speak English jenna? We were trying to figure out why he was having such a hard time.
Well, I noticed him at the BB Kings show having more of a "growl" to his voice than Forum, and figured he was just trying it out since RENT return was announced by then. By BB Kings, to me, having seen the solo show 3 times, it seemed like he wasn't trying and was kind of bored. Up on the stage on Tuesday, he definitely was NOT bored, so it definitely soothed by worries, lol.
His voice sounds very different on the OBCR compared to now.
I also like his Glory better on the movie soundtrack.
No, he didn't! I first asked if he could get a quick picture of Adam, to which he said "uh, who?" I figured I'd give easier directions, but he couldn't figure out which button to press to take the picture.
I remember hating his voice on the OBCR when I first got it because of how different he sounds. Now I prefer it to the OMPS.
lol, gotta love NYC!
If you thought it was crazy now, I don't even want to think the craziness if this happened:
Was there ever a temptation to switch roles this time around? Pascal laughs: “Quite frankly, Anthony couldn’t sing my part.” Though he’s sure they’d both love the challenge, “I think people would freak out.”
From the metro article.
Even though, i would love to see Adam doing the tango!
That's funny. I love how Ada's just like, "No, Anthony couldn't do that!". Anthony'll have his own interview saying, "Adam can't play Mark as good as I can because he can't Tango!" :P
After his "dancing" in the movie, I would be quite interested in watching Adam try to tango.
I just saw butt wiggling, not dancing, lol! :)

The butt wiggling during LVB in the movie was priceless. I was surprised they didn't have anything to say about that during the commentary.
i liked the wiggling. wouldnt mind seeing him tango either though. wouldnt mind giving the tango a whirl with him either. it's been a long time since i tangoed though
