misschung, I believe the response from the screening(s?) was so poor that they knew it wouldn't be profitable to release it. I still think that releasing it straight to DVD might prove somewhat profitable (not profitable in the sense that they'd make back their investments, but they'd get
something back), especially given the fanbases of Adam and Cerveris, and to a
much lesser extent, Ripley and Pope. Since the movie is essentially a sunk cost at this point, I can't imagine releasing it with minimal official publicity would prove a bad idea. However, the amount of money anyone could actually make from that sort of release is probably so minimal that no one has bothered (and probably never will).
