YES, thank you - Taylor Dane.
That was driving me crazy. She belted out that song from "Dreamgirls" at the supper club that night
Em, I never really understood your thing for arms until last night. I saw some awesome arms
Heh, whose were they? And yeah, it's not all arms. Only nice ones.
My guy friend that I kinda like and have been having this weird are we or aren't we relationship for almost a year. But I haven't seen him in a month and he's been working out for baseball, and I was quite impressed.

nice
I did catch that segment, Emcee. Very glad I did, too.
That's great you've found arms worthy of appreciation, Sarah. I'm all for spring sports
Nice, Sarah, and speaking of arms, I've been periodically going through some old pictures, and here's a fan photo from the Aida period that is probably new to most of you.
=) What a nice thing to open the thread and find!! wifebeater pic, yay!! =)
Tink, what'd you think of the opera?
I really liked it. Much funnier than I thought it would be (i want that damn teddy bear, lol!). Marc made for one hot pirate! What did you think?
What a beautiful day it was to be walking around NYC!

does anyone know about Adam's tattoo? like what it means?
I thought it was alright. It's such a fun, silly show, but it wasn't as funny as I remembered it being. I was in a production when I was twelve (yes, seriously -- my teacher was pretty much insane) and we had such a blast with it, and then I saw a production off-Broadway a few years after that, and I remember that one being much funnier than the NYCO one is. I think it might have to do with the fact that the one I'd seen prior was put on by a group who does Gilbert and Sullivan works in rep... I think they were (are?) called The New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players. But anyway, these people *really* knew how to act this stuff and go for the comedy. The opera singers, while wonderful, really felt like they were just singing (to me, anyway), and relying on the text to carry itself, which isn't nearly as hilarious as it could be. I thought both Kudisch (whom I adore and think absolutely sublime) and Jacoby were fantastic, each perfectly cast and absolutely the highlights. I had fun, but I was just a little bit disappointed.
The one on his shoulder is a Celtic love knot -- look closely and you'll see a series of hearts intertwined. The one on his lower arm interlocks the initials of his wife and children.

Oh, I didnt know it was a love knot, thanks.
He's not irish at all tho, is he?
No, but are all the people out there with Chinese character tattoos Chinese?

definetly not (my stepfather has one and he's Sicilian), I was just asking because one of my friends is Irish and Jewish and he's the only one I know. So now he remains the only one I know :o)
re Gilbert and Sullivan - I was suprised that NYCO did the production. I was debating whether or not to see it - do you think its worth seeing? I'm not that crazy about the music, and someone in the ensemble said the production was a little "busy" - whatever that means.
Yeah, I do think it's worth seeing. It's a fun show, my expectations were just very high. It is a little bit busy, but I think that's the nature of the genre, really.

That's true. I thought their putting on Pirates was so random this year!

To be fair, it's possible that he has some Irish blood. I do doubt that was the primary reason why he got that particular tattoo (although I have no idea why he chose it, really).

Yeah, its another Adam mystery for us to ponder. :)
I don't know Skittles, you've always reminded me of a butterfly.
Em - this was my first intro to Pirates... and opera. I'm sure if I had seen other productions I may not have been taken the way as I was. I'm really glad I decided to go see it. I do agree with the singing though, other than the high notes, I could've forgotten I was at an "opera" altogether.
It's funny - I saw Bob Martin's last day in Drowsy - no curtain call speeches/flowers etc. I go see the final production Pirates, no hoopla for it ending, lol! For once I wan to see hoopla! :)

Good morning, folks!
The Pajama Game is now officially over. I have to find a new hobby! I haven't been home on a Sunday evening since January. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself! The show went really well, and I can't wait to get involved in next year's production!
At the cast party last night, we were talking about possible shows for next year. The director said he usually orders three shows (perusals?), and that, in the past, he's used one of those the next year. This year, his two other shows were How to Succeed in Business... and Company! I was immediately like, "PLEASE KEEP THAT ONE IN MIND!" I think he was surprised I had heard of it... we're not a very theatre-loving town, heh. But I think I'm getting my hopes up for nothing, because it might be a bit too "adult" for some people, and one of the points of the group is to get as many people involved as possible. But I can dream!
I'm glad you're production was a success Allie! Doesn't it feel strange when you've worked so hard on a production then 'poof!' its all done?
