lol, Chloe, I hear that a lot!
Yeah, AP online had a great image gallery. I thought Cassie was going to leave that part of the site available, but it doesn't work anymore.
My dad's setting the table for for Easter dinner while my mom resoutely stacks haggadahs in the next room
The gallery stayed up for a little while, but maybe she couldn't keep paying the fee.
It sounds like you have the best of both worlds, Ariella.
Okay, now I want some chocolate.
For you Chloe:
Anytime! :)

whenever I hear the word haggadah, I just think about Adam during the rent movie q + a, when he said his answers sounded like something from the haggadah "I felt such an enormous sense of satisfaction after I finished the role on Broadway, and that would have been enough..."
Almost about to go to the third page, can't let that happen!!
My picture for the day, from Brilliant Mistake. I'm sure glad Daphne decided blonde wasn't for her. She said somewhere that she just had to try it, even though it turned out not so well.
I could never get used to seeing Daphne as a blonde, though I suppose some incarnation of blonde hair is a rite of passage in the entertainment world.
Ok, so I am about 1/2 through the Hair video and I just had to comment. Beside it being one strange ass play in general, it's pretty good. But holy lord, can Adam please stop giving me reasons to obsess more? My oh my, that performance! I thought nothing could come close to the "One Night in Bangkok" performance, but this did.
oh, and Raul's performance made me giggle. Who is cute boy with nice body wearing a wifebeater?
Nothing compares to the oddity of the high school production of Hair I saw last month. The unsuppressable "incorrectness" of the show combined with desperate attempts at censorship resulted in no end of strangeness.
I can imagine, Ariella! I suppose they just had to drop Sodomy. I feel like I should take a look at the movie again. It's been a really long time.
Tink, I don't think the benefit performance gives a very good idea of the original, since in order to shoehorn in the largest possible number of performers, there were several actors for each character and even less staging than before. However, I gather the original was pretty loose and ragtag in itself.
Who is cute boy with nice body wearing a wifebeater?
Do you mean Harris Doran?
(He's on the right, with Seth Rudetsky)
My personal favorite (other than Adam and Raul) is Gavin Creel, who performs "Going Down."
Oh, Chloe I'm sure. The basic story itself really just doesn't appeal to me on a whole, but I'm always willing to give something a chance! I will check out the Original cast recording and movie one day. I really like these Actors Benefit concerts. Have they done any other than Chess and Hair (and I think they did a Dreamgirls one too)?
The most recent Actors' Fund Benefit concert was Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (October of '06), and previous ones were Dreamgirls (in '01), Funny Girl (in '02), and On the Twentieth Century (in '05). (Chess was in 2003, and Hair was in 2004.)

Harris Doran looks like he could be in a Harry Potter movie.
Did you see the Hair rehearsal? Love that orange beater paired with the Cabaret baseball hat :o)
I have to say, I'm not a big Hair fan for some reason, but I loved that benefit concert
Yes gertrude - That's him! Did they advertise the other ones in the same way? Big stars and recordings, etc.?
MissChung - I have seen the rehearsal video and loved it. And love my Chloe screencap just as much!
The concerts are annual, I think, though I can't remember what last year's was. Whorehouse, maybe? But Seth always does a fantastic job, so they're great every year. And yeah, I think you're referring to Harris Doran, who did indeed work the wifebeater.
No, Chloe - they actually kept Sodomy in! Except two members of the tribe held up a sign reading "masturbation" rather than saying it aloud. By all reports, the actor shouted it out anyway on closing night and received a week of detentions in exchange.
I actually rented the HAIR film over spring break, I really recommend it to anyone who likes the music. The ending was very interesting...I don't want to say anymore because I'll give it away, but definately worth you're bottom dolla'. I need to see about watching the HAIR concert video, haven't gotten around to watching it.
Interesting that "masturbation" was considered the worst word in that song, or were some of the others changed? Anyway, it's kind of '60s for the actor to rebel that way and get detention.
Maybe it's just that I wasn't paying much attention, but it doesn't seem like the last two benefits had as much hoopla around them.
I think you're right Chloe. I mean, I do remember hearing about the Whorehouse benefit and stuff, but it didn't seem as nifty as the Chess and HAIR concerts.
Hmmm, could I see a common theme of Adam Pascal / the two shows with most popularity??? :) big ego boost there for ya Adam!
lol!
Edit - Of course I can copy that statement and go to the Raul thread as well.....
Weird. Last night I thought this thread had disappeared.
I'm not a huge fan of Hair either, but I dug out this old screencap for your enjoyment.
Awww, HAIR! I love the benefit performances. A lot.
