Sorry to have offended you, skittles, but I wasn't exactly comparing you so much as being reminded of a slightly similar situation, and I wouldn't have brought her up if I didn't have a high opinion of her despite her problems.
Well, I just feel that there are more worthy past Adam thread posters to get very special lessons on than one you know has caused lasting grief amongst many here.
I wasn't trying to hurt anyone, and wasn't aware that the grief was still such an issue. I think you saw her at her worst, but she was also a very witty, intelligent person. Anyway, I don't see any purpose in going on about it if it's really bothering people, so I'll drop it.
For what it's worth, my personal sadness and sensitivity about estrangement from someone I love very much isn't mutually exclusive from thinking very, very highly of her. I certainly still do. Always have, always will.
I resent the implication that my opinion of insomniak is based on nothing more than a few disagreements on a message board. insomniak's "worst", from what I witnessed, had been going on since early 2005. There's only so long you can excuse her behavior as a temporary funk before you have to start accepting that the manipulation and emotional abuse have become more of her personality than the wit and intelligence ever were. Just because she's not posting here doesn't mean a. new posters need to be made aware of her distorted "legacy" as the Great Love Thread Creator or b. the people that were here have been able to forget her, despite much anguish and hours in therapy trying to clean up the mess she caused. If it's about honoring old thread members, by all means, talk about amasis or QueenMuppet or TGIF as well instead of making it out as though insomniak is the only poster worth missing.

aw, those are great!
I love the earrings
Yay, chess pictures. Just what I needed after getting royally lost catching up on today's thread happenings.

while we're on the Chess topic (sort of), did anyone else find Josh Groban's "ah, dont gimme that crap!" line during The Russian and The Molokov really funny? For some reason it just sounds so out of character for Josh to bust out a line like that - he looks like the kind of guy who never curses, lol

Nice pictures.
I guess I'll stick with the Chess theme for a while, since it's a favorite of so many of you -
Denim dresses and OCC shirts, the fashion no no's in that picture, oy, lol!
But the fashion no-no's make it all the more fun. Nothing like some new pictures after a rough couple of days.
Okay, what's an OCC shirt?
Adam's Orange County Chopper wifebeater
Orange County Chopper? Is that some wealthy Republican motorcycle gang?
haha, too funny Chloe. OCC were a chopper building family who had a show on the Discovery Channel (American Choppers). They were big back in 04-05.
And still are! I LOVE OCC, I have a T-Shirt just like Adam's wifebeater. (My dad saw a pic of him in that shirt and kind of freaked; he was all "Orange County Choppers!! Awesome!!" )
I have a personal bias against them. The job I just left this week had a relationship with them in the past, and it wasn't exactly pretty. But to each their own.
Aww, the picture of Adam clapping is really, really cute.
I'm sorry to hear that Tink; I hope you find a new job soon
What kind of work did you do previously?
Hey Elphie - yeah, that's a particularly good picture. The shirt is actually black, I think, but he looks great in that shade of brown.
I really like his hair that color, too. I'm not a huge fan of the bleached blond look.
Oh, it was my decision to leave. I started my new job the next day, lol! I did various things in the course of my employment with the company. One was handling their motorsports sponsorship, which some of our advertising vehicles were some Choppers we owned.
