Adam is subconsciously focusing on his early career because it's the complete antithesis of the droning, depressing, buzzkilling chamber music he's letting Larry write for him.
I don't know if I want to tell him to completely grow up, or to regress more.

It's funny that Rosario and Jesse are grinning and Idina, Wilson and Adam are pretending to scowl.

Look! Scruffy Anthony from IN THE HEIGHTS Opening Night Arrivals!

Anthony resembles one of my teachers in that picture...odd...
Adam's face in that last Rent picture made me laugh. I've never seen that picture before.

Yeah, it's nice to come across something new from that time. To go back even further, I happened to come across a link I saved to a thread here about Adam starting in Cabaret. Everyone was very enthusiastic. It's really too bad that he's done so well in his shows without them leading him to more very often. I felt he was excellent in Alive in the World and hope it'll be produced some time soon. I really liked the music, and hope the composer will see that if he's not comfortable writing dialog he needs to find a collaborator who is. Who knows if this has a chance though.
It's strange. Adam's often said how writing and performing his own music means the most to him, but I think what works the best for him is being in musicals. Not that I don't enjoy seeing him doing his own stuff, but the musicals can be even better.

Strange, but I'm glad you worked it out. Maybe some of the others who have had this problem can do the same.
Robin, unfortunately I didn't see Adam in Cabaret. I wasn't aware of him until a few months after that. I know some other people here did though.
