Ooh, how fun! It doesn't feel like Christmas. I can't believe it's in two days.

I want to see the Sweeney movie, but since I never saw the show and don't know much about the story, I'm not sure if it's my kind of thing.

I want to see it too, but I probably won't get around to it (as usual!) and will rent it when it comes out on DVD.

I'm fairly squeamish about large amounts of blood, and it honestly didn't bother me that much. It's just done artistically enough that it's not too gruesome.

What better place than a movie (at what, $11.75 top price?) to see if you like something you're not familiar with?

The movie, in my opinion, is exquisite. And the orchestrations are to die for.
I recognize the addiction to being alive.

I think the way people talk about Sondheim and say that you have to "do your homework" before seeing one of his shows scares a lot of people away. I think it's true sometimes, but with this movie, you don't need to know the story or the score to appreciate it. It's not made that way. I mean, why would it be? Just go. It's one of the greatest scores of all time, one of the best movies of the year (and probably longer), and will be some of the best ten bucks you spend this year.

You'll understand the story of Sweeney as you're watching it. I'm getting excited about seeing it.

Em, I should've done research when I went to see my university put on Into the Woods. My friend and I almost went home during the intermission thinking it was finished.

I saw it today. I thought it was fun. I wouldn't see it again, but I also wouldn't deter people from seeing it, either -- I guess that's a good way to describe my stance. I thought it was cute... I love Cheyenne, not so much Kerry Butler. The score is catchy enough, although I expected it to be a little bit more pop/rock. I dunno. It was kind of stupid, and not quite my thing, but the writing was sharp (the book, anyway), and I can appreciate a good farce. I'm glad I saw it.

I wish I had the time or money to see it right now. In the past few days, I spent the last of my bank account and then I'm leaving for vacation. I guess I'll have to wait for it to come to video.

It is silly most of the time, and so over the top, but when you look at the source, well. I've seen it twice, once before Cheyenne started and then again with him. I'm feeling the urge to go back. Mostly just to see Cheyenne.

Amazon is listing a CD from The Backyardigans that features a song with Adam called "Not an Egg." It's not available yet, but up for pre-orders. I'm not sure I'd buy a whole album of children's songs because it has one by Adam, but at least we know for sure that he's singing on the show.

Right. I also found a description of the episode he's in -

Always a favorite in our house - the Backyardigans - will premiere their new TV movie “Tale of the Mighty Knights” Monday January 14, on Nickelodeon.

In the hour-long special, royal knights - Uniqua and Tyrone - are asked by King Pablo to babysit a dragon egg, but they also have to deal with a feisty goblin - Austin - and a mischievous fairy - Tasha.

The underwater cave scenes are supposed to include very impressive CGI and 3D animation. And there's a soundtrack influenced by Queen. Rent and Aida Broadway star - Adam Pascal - narrates and lends his voice to a very cute dragon.
