Good luck tomorrow, Angela.
Nun!Adam seems to be relevant on all occasions somehow.
Lexi, I was just remembering how disappointed you were that Adam was moving to LA as you were planning on coming to school here, but it's worked out all right so far.
Chloe, I love your avatar.
I think I'm getting sick, either that or I'm loosing my voice. Either one is not good!!! I also have a huge blister on my arm from the other night when I was making a pie and I burned my arm. It looks so gross, my sister thought it was a bracelet from a distance. So that's my random ramblings for the night.
I thought of Nun!Adam earlier today. I was reading the paper and it had a list of the top 25 movie musicals and "The Sound Of Music" was one of them
Emcee - This is what I received from the booking manager:
"Adam's shows are at 10:30 PM on both nights. There is a 30.00 cover charge and a 2 drink minimum per person. People can reserve by calling 212-206-0440. He will be on our web site shortly. www.metropolitanroom.com"
I have missed this thread so much...I'm a horrible person, I haven't been here since the ninth thread. Must work harder to make an appearance. Lol.
I'm so sad. I'm super-excited because I'll be driving through Virginia on the same night Adam's performing. I'm going to Washington, DC for a school thing, so I can't stop in Suffolk and see the concert. But this will be the first time I've ever been in the same state as Adam!! Woohoo!
It's nice to see you again. I guess being in the same state is a step in the right direction! I don't know where you llve, but there might be more concerts in the south, so you may still have a chance.

I'm confused as to why Adam's gig is priced significantly higher than the majority of the other things listed on the venue's website.

I wouldn't say significantly higher, but I was wondering the exact same thing last night.
Their covers run between $15 and $30 depending on the performer. Keith David, Billy Stritch, and Terese Genecco all have had the $30 cover as well.

Right, but we were just wondering as to why Adam/his company is apparently among the crowd of charging the most.
Bleh, I was hoping it'd be more like $15 or $20.

Me too.
Has anyone seen the Bodies exhibit in Manhattan? I've been speaking with someone on the internet for a little more than three years, and we're finally planning to meet this weekend. We both kind of want to see the exhibit... morbid, I know! It's on the expensive side, though, and between Adam's shows and Mano's show, I'm going to be broke soon.
It's the usual market forces at play - what the performer wants, how much the room thinks people will be willing to pay. I was just googling around about it, and found this at Theatermania:
The room is happily filling a need in bridging the gap between relatively inexpensive clubs with $15 dollar cover charges, like Don't Tell Mama and The Duplex, and high end-rooms with covers that range from $50 to $125, like Feinstein's and the Café Carlyle. The charge at the new venue will be an average of $30 for acts that have outgrown the smaller clubs but haven't yet received entree to the ritzier ones.

SD- I actually saw the BODIES exhibit in Vegas. It was at the hotel my uncle works at so we got free tickets. In my opinion, I was completely grossed out and it was nauseating. If you enjoy medicine and don't mind seeing the human body literally in pieces/layers, then you will be fine. Again, in my opinion, it was pretty sick to look at a baby fetus in a glass tube. I would look at the website before going. But if you are interested in the human body I recommend it. It just wasn't for me.
EDIT: The pictures on the website is what is right in front of you. Just to have an idea what's there.
Ooh, Lexi, totally go if you're interested and it's not too expensive. That sounds awesome. Then again, I'm a bio major and we tend to be weird about stuff like that. Even if it totally grosses you out, it'll be an experience.
I know someone who saw the Bodies exhibit and was fascinated, but I'm way too squeamish myself. I can't even watch blood being taken.

Hey, Ashley. :) I'm listening to Chess... again.
I'm generally fine with gruesome stuff as long as it doesn't involve needles.
I'm kind of a repressed biology nerd as a result of asking my father a million medical questions when I was younger, so I'm kind of on the same page as you about this sort of stuff in general, Ash.
I can't deal with anything that has needles either. You'd think that getting a needle once a week would help me with that, but no. I also don't deal with body parts well, I can't watch those medical shows. However, show me a guy getting killed with an axe or losing limbs in a swordfight, I'm all for it.
Aww, Chess.
We're sort of an interesting type... I can have conversations about, like, flesh-eating bacteria over lunch with other biology people, and everyone else sort of backs away slowly. Hehe. Anyway, by those standards the Bodies thing sounds cool.

Two chewy Chips Ahoy cookies are apparently 15% of your recommended saturated fat intake for the day. They shouldn't taste so good.
I love that you're planning a trip to the Bodies exhibit while eating cookies.
I never knew Lexi and Ashley were quite so cold blooded...
But seriously, you're making me very hungry.
Wow, part 11?!
I still remember Parts 1,2 & 3
Just popping in to say hello
Hey you. :)
I remember you - hello again.

Dude, seriously. They're like, half a centimeter thick, there's no reason they should have THAT much saturated fat unless they're like, pure butter.
