Aw Zyla, I'm sorry. Did you get the time wrong?
Walking [thought of calling you WTF... but no], have you heard of Seth's Chatterbox? It's a live weekly interview with Broadway performers at a club here in NY. The sessions are taped and sold to benefit BC/EFA. Adam was there twice, the first time with Sherie Rene Scott near the start of Aida and the second time when he was doing Cabaret. They're very fun, informative and long. The first one is about halfway down the page and the second almost at the end. Your problem is going to be that the DVDs aren't cheap and you're probably going to want a lot of them.
ETA: Krissy, I'm glad your mom is making progress. It must be difficult for you.

As I haven't visited this board in awhile, I'm not sure what's going on with your mom, but I hope that everything's okay. *sends tons of well-wishing*
ETA: Chloe, you can call me Dani, as that's my name. Lol.
I haven't heard of those DVDS, but I'll see if I can check into that. I don't have any money, but maybe next time I get some, I can buy those. Thanks!!!

Sending good vibes to you and your family, Bohemian.
In more banal topics, I had signed up for a 7:30 audition, and I know I got there before then. Ah well. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. *shrugs*
I'm sorry if I seem a little thick, but, out of curiosity, Dani, why did the thought of the locked doors make you giggle?
And, if anyone's curious, the textbook I was talking about earlier is "Collaborative Acts", second edition, by Wainscott and Fletcher. And the photo is on... *flips through*...gimme a minute...page 185.
Again, I don't know for sure if it's Adam. However, his hair looks like Adam's, as does his jawline/chin (I think Adam's is pretty distinctive), and - the kicker - he has the arms.
I feel really silly talking about that, but I can't help but think it's kind of cool. Adam Pascal appears in a textbook! Who'd have thought?
(Even if he isn't the Emcee in the picture, there's also a photo of the entire Rent OBC. So, again, he's in my textbook!)
Yay for Adam and textbooks!
Sorry about that. Giggling wasn't the best way to go. I follow the "you have to laugh to keep from crying" philosophy. I was also giggling at your comment about "theatre isn't exclusive". Here's hoping you still get to audition!!!!! Best of luck!
What are you auditioning for, anyway?

Oh, okay, Dani! Thanks for clearing that up. I can't blame you for giggling, or for typing that you were giggling. Plus, my "exclusive" comment was meant to be a joke, so I'm glad it got that response!
I was going to try out for "The Ends of the Earth" by Morris Panych (contemporary Canadian playwright). Today was the last day of auditions for that one, but, really, I'm okay with it. There are several drama groups at my school, and I'm planning to audition for two other plays next week.
Good luck with your auditions Zyla
Schnickies! I just sent you a private message, and now you reply at the exact same time, lol.
That stinks that you missed the auditions, but I'm glad that you'll be able to audition for other things. The drama department at my high school was murdered with a spoon (long story), but I can still audition for things around the city, which is nice. The people who used to work at my school's drama department just started up a theatre group, and I'm taking voice lessons with one of them, AND I'm in Titus Andronicus at one of the local high schools. So life is good.
I hope you get in something soon!
ETA: I'm going to go eat dinner, so I'll talk to y'all a little later!!!
Have fun Dani! Hee
Rent secrets...Why do I keep going back for more? Most of them are about Adam or Mimi.
Sounds like a busy schedule. Awesome, though. Rumor has it that the musical at my school may Evita. Sort of surprising, because there's only one central character. A highschool a bunch of my friends go to is doing Hair though. I wonder how much they'll have to cut. And how much will be left.

A high school production of Hair...yikes. I had a friend who told me that her high school once performed The Rocky Horror Show.
Thanks, everyone, for the good-luck wishes.
Dani! Titus Andronicus! I've only read and (and seen) one scene, but I'd love to read the whole play. One of the groups at a Shakespeare workshop I went to performed...how should I put this...the dinner scene. Gotta love it.
It amazes me what high schools put on these days. Will you be trying out for Evita if they do it, Ariella? Titus Andronicus is even more heavy duty than any of the musicals.
I'm ba-ack!
Yeah, it's busy, but I love it. I'm not sure who I am in Titus Andronicus, yet. All I know is that I love the material. A death every 97 lines? How fun is that! I know I'm going to be either Tamora or the Nurse that is in one scene...here's hoping for Tamora! Lol. Lavinia has already been cast. Hahah, Zyla! The dinner scene is quite awesome...main reason I want to be Tamora...lol.
OMG, I would love to do Hair! The musicals my school has put on are Godspell, AIDA (which I was in!), and Into the Woods (which I was in). This was, of course, before the murder of our drama deptartment.
picturetaker, I just watched the end of Ferris Bueller...love your avatar.
I might try out for Evita... depends on how auditions go out of school. My school's drama department is dying so they can put in a new hockey rink that isn't even needed. Why can't schools ever get their priorities straight? I completely sympathize.
Hair will be crazy. I'm gonna have to see it, even if it's Hair Jr. I wish them luck with replacing all of the many iffy lyrics with more family-friendly substitutions.
Ahh, my school is the same way! They fired a teacher (our drama moderator) so that they would only have to pay one teacher to teach chemistry and physics (dm taught chemistry), but then turned around and bought these stupid smart boards for the science classes. It's just an unneeded technology thing!!! *screams*
Hair would be fun to see on a high school stage. I want to see if they manage to pull it off without butchering it.

I remember the theatre department at my high school pretty much fell apart. My last two years there, there was no fall musical at all.
I just realized how sick it sounds to comment on how much I'm intrigued by a play about rape, murder, and cannibalism (*takes a moment of silence for a certain production of a certain musical*). But, then again, it's Shakespeare! Plus, the workshop I was in really played up the humor in that scene. And we had a real pie.
I can't blame you for wanting to be Tamora.
Best wishes for your guys' auditions, too.
I think it's about time I log off, so good night, guys.
This is all reminding me of what Adam said about how so many of his fans want to do what he does. I never did any musicals, but I was in a couple of school plays back (waaaay back) in the day.
I know! It sounds so fun!
Thanks, Zyla! Goodnight!!!
ETA: Chloe, what do you mean by his fans want to do what he does? Do you mean do musical theatre? *is slightly confused*
Exactly - it was at one of the LA concerts. He said that musical theater was probably the only genre of entertainment in which a lot of the fans wanted to be performers, which led to them feeling a combination of adulation and envy.
Good night, Zyla -

I don't know about envy (well, I guess), but isn't that rule true for a lot of things? I mean, lots of people who like movies want to be actors. Eh, whatever. He does have a good point.
ETA: Though it's only 9:47, I really need to finish up a couple of things before I go to bed, so I must pull myself away from the computer and go on with the rest of my nighttime activities. Say goodnight to Dani!!!!
What he actually said was that it led to a lot of adulation and wanting to kill him. There's been a lot of hostility to him at times, maybe partly because he just kind of fell into doing something that others will never get anywhere near no matter how hard they work and study.
Playbill has a little article about Adam and other Broadway people at the Metropolitan.
Playbill/Metropolitan
Oh my God! People have wanted to kill him? It isn't his fault he's insanely talented!!!
Don't worry, I don't think he meant that literally, which is why I wrote "envy" originally.
Thank God. Nearly gave me a heart attack. Don't kill Adam! He has a wife and two kids!!! And, he's gorgeous and talented!!!
Alright, I wasn't lying when I said I needed to go. So, tootles!!! *waves to Chloe*
Hey, me again
Brief Adam moment today for broadwaystar2b:
We warmed up in Jazz class to Aida and it was awesome
Of course, right?
LOL. That IS awesome. I'm jealous. OKAY! I'm really leaving!!! *tears away from computer and runs away* I HEART ADAAAAAM!!! *words fade away as Dani gets farther away*
