Thanks, TWF. I think he's certainly growing as a musician also.
Yeah, the screaming after the songs was okay, but during is not fair.
They were hurting my ears. It's just... cheer, but please don't cause people pain.
I feel like in some ways, I'm a bit guilty as charged because meeting someone after a show often becomes PART of the show, and then that disappointment just makes you left with the taste of letdown in your mouth, so to speak. That said, though, I would never, ever allow some minor disappointment like that blatantly overshadow such an incredible show, and it's ridiculous to me that people are really THAT upset about it -- upset enough to let it ruin how beautiful his performance was.
Additionally on the topic of the meeting fiasco, I don't think it's too much to ask of the security guards not to LIE. Lying just causes more confusion and chaos. I think they could accomplish the same thing -- perhaps more efficiently -- by just telling the truth. If he's too tired, he's too tired, end of story.
can I be baptized?
I am an convert to the religion of adam pascal.
Hey dear.

I hope it was my pictures that converted you!
I really need to try to get sleep soon.
We would tend to agree with that here. This picture is from the Bay Shore show last night.

I thought he said thank you baby to you Siamese, which I remember thinking was adorable. But Chloe was certainly closer, so I think we could trust her more than me.
He *did* have somewhere to be. He had someone giving him like a countdown as he was with us, and was kinda pushed out of the door. We were told he had to catch a plane to LA.
But regardless of my fortune, I agree about the lying. When the girls the security guard "knew" got to go backstage, he came out and said Adam was gone, when it was so incredibly obvious they were going backstage to see him.
I was near the back too...I thought the sound was fine, but didn't have anything to compare it to from like Sunday. The theater was very intimate, and I felt close, and apparently I was surrounded by good audience members. Soo amazing to him perform without Jersey college girls who won't shutup and the audience singing along to One Song Glory.
In terms of the funny bits he added, aside from the late and such...there was saying Sondheim would kill him after Maria, but f*ck Sondheim...asking what was that? before he sang his "last song" and when he heard Rent he was like shhh, no talking. Ohh, and when umm...some ppl who of course was not me were booing after he sadly reiterated not liking West Side Story, he was like heyy, this isn't a debate. At least the audience seemed to have good taste in classic musicals
He's flying home really early tomorrow morning.

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was "thank you baby," but I'm sure he didn't exactly put too much thought into that noun anyway.
I believe Larry or his wife told me that he was catching a plane early tomorrow morning. I understand that he probably didn't want to stick around if that was the case, but then why wait an hour or so and then leave instead of just leaving immediately? And why take select groups of girls backstage while making the others wait elsewhere? It doesn't make sense, but I'm not going to focus on it anymore and rather on the amazing show.
And well WRQ, you'll have to pick up his albums sometime considering you seemed to have enjoyed the show so much...

"Thank you, baby."
The whole post-show shindig was just poorly orchestrated. Between the booze, the food, and the boy, it was just kind of... chaos.
Okay, I was pretty sure I heard baby
I have the albums...I just don't listen to them as much as I should.
I realized that I didn't post here last night that I GOT TO GO TO THE SHOW My sister surprised me w/ tickets and I nearly fainted w/ happiness.
It was my first time seeing Adam live. I sat on the left side in the 2nd row which was amazing. My sister got really scared to take a picture because he was so close. I loved his song, all stripped down w/ only a guitar & a piano. It made Adam's voice & his stand out more since all the other instruments in the songs are kinda distracting, IMO. My sister really got into the show, which I definitely not expecting. She said Adam looked adorable, & his songs weren't too shabby. She actually wants me to send her a few. She got some amazing pictures, so I'll have to post some when she sends them to me. The 2 girls sitting on one side of me were extremely nice & asked me to take pictures for them. My sister unfortunately had to sit next to some crazy Adam fans who were shaking/bouncing & holding hands to hold in their excitement & love for Adam.
I was pretty disappointed about not meeting Adam after the show. It was kinda just chaos with a lot of excited & loud teenage girls, which I have to admit being to one, minus the latter, vodka, & cheese. My sister waited for awhile til everybody went inside, but then we decided to leave becaus eit was getting late & she wanted some Bubble Tea.
So that was my experience in a nutshell. I'll be posting pictures, as soon as I get a hold of some good ones.
Lexi & Emcee & others- I think I saw you guys. I was too nervous/scared/timid to actually say hi. I was the girl w/ glasses, a purple fleece, & a vest.
Awww, I don't think I saw you, but you should have come to say hi! I'm glad you got to go, though!
Emcee you are exactly right about how it becomes part of the show to see the performer after the show, and it does make you feel let down. This is a huge anxiety for me every time we see him. I always say I won't care, what ever happens happens, but I am always a little disapointed if it doesn't. Even when I don't really want it to, because part of me feels like Ive already met him let someone else have a chance. I definetly agree though that if people are letting it overshadow the performance they should think twice about that. The show and the voice is what we all go there for and their are a ton of people who don't even get that much!
That being said I think the security guard should of been honest!!!!!!!!!!!
I am glad that you all had a good time and got to hear a new song, I can't wait to hear it.
Oh and Siamese Dream, "thanks babe or doll or whatever" for your hand in getting them to add a new song!
I think I saw somebody from this board. But I was also expecting somebody to be half drunk I saw people from LJ, who were saying "Are you from Livejournal, I think I know you!" & stuff like that.
I forgot to mention that I did get to tlak to Larry & his wife, who were both extremely sweet. Larry was so kind about signing autographs & be in pictures for everybody.
Pictures from last night
I just want to clarify that I think it's "part" not in a term of entitlement, like that you're SUPPOSED to meet someone after the show, or that you HAVE to in order to have had fun and all that, but after years of "conditioning," so to speak, you just come to assume that things are going to be the same way, you know? So even though not in terms of expectations of what fans are entitled to get, it just gets lumped in with the experienced because you're just used to the two coming together. I'm sorry, it's just really hard to express the point I'm trying to make without sounding like one of those people who is all "ADAM I HAVE TO MEET YOU. I WILL SLIT MY WRISTS IF YOU DON'T SIGN MY RENT BIBLE!" or just feels like they're entitled to it by going to see his concert -- like someone said on the Main Board, as if it's included in the ticket price. It's just that they often do come together, so my personal mechanism is sort of to psyche myself out about it. And like, yeah, it's disappointing when you're planning on it because you're used to it, but I'm not legitimately upset. I got to see him perform, and that's one of my most favorite things in the world. End of story.
Great pics, Angela.
Love the pictures!!!!!
And I think you made your point quite well, you dont feel entitled but you still have a tiny bit of dissapointment. Not to much to ruin the evening just a little. Especially since you were sent on a scavenger hunt for the right door.

No, I think we all get what you're saying, Em! :) There's a difference between feeling it's actually included with your ticket and just a general expectation that he's going to sign autographs, stemming from the number of times he does.
Those are great pictures, Angela. I thought I saw you standing across from us after the concert, but I wasn't sure if it was you.
And thanks, mesmerized (sorry I haven't replied to your email quite yet - will do soon). :)

Yeah, if someone had just told us the truth off the bat, I would have been like "ok, that's fine," and not wanted to wait around if it was going to be a bother to Adam. But it was irritating to know you were being lied to, and they were really obvious lies. It doesn't work when you have one person saying he's in the building but not signing and another saying he left fifteen minutes ago. That's totally separate from the general assumption of like "oh, he almost always signs, so he probably will tonight."
I'll upload my pics later. :)
I can't wait to see them!
Thanks for the pictures, Angela, and I'm looking forward to yours too Emcee.
Yes, it was poorly handled. I was lucky in that I had no expectations and therefore no real disappointment. I do want to clarify one thing. Several people have talked about the "chaos," and while it's true that the information (or lack of) was quite chaotic, the atmosphere itself was calm. It's not as if there were people running around, pushing and shoving. It's definitely a shame that the lack of good information put a damper on the end of the evening for so many though.
I also can't say I think it would have been a good idea for Adam to come out right after the show. There were too many people in a too-small, too oddly-shaped space. Now *that* would have been chaotic. The lobby was quite strange, a small space at the front with a half-moon of narrow curving corridors going off in either direction.
So glad you got to go, Angela. That's awesome!
Belligerent/lying security guards seem to be a recurring theme around Adam. That was certainly the case in L.A., but it was a definite hilight to watch Adam talk them around. "Talk" of course being an understatement.
