Yea, he wasn't really rude. Kinda loud, but not rude.
I will definitly say hello next time!
Angela-hah, that's cute. I liked his jeans. And his hair wasn't bad, but I just had to laugh that my dad made a comment about his hair AND his fashion.
ETA: Well, I'm going to bed. I had a long weekend and pretty tired. Goodnight!
What's interesting to me about this all is that Adam is consistently gracious and down to earth, and willing to do much more than the security seems to let on. I've expressed this about a number of instances and people, but the security people work for the actors, yet there is so much miscommunication, and I really don't understand it. They should be there to speak for the actors and make sure the situation doesn't get out of hand, but I don't get these situations that keep popping up of an actor being willing to sign autographs and security saying no. It just seems backwards to me. If Adam was ok with it, then there's no reason for people to have told you no on his behalf. Obviously Adam has gotten a lot more lax about it over the years and rarely says no anymore, but the whole thing is really a little bit baffling to me.
I don't really know what the situation is - maybe the security people are actually working for Sh-K-Boom or the venue. Whatever the case, I can imagine this scenario - that Adam says he has to leave, no more autographs, and the security people follow through with this, but when he sees someone who really wants to meet him, he gives in.
This doesn't really apply to what Ariella described at the Grove in LA. Maybe those security guys felt it was too dangerous for Adam to mingle with the crowd?
Right, that probably does happen a good portion of the time; he doesn't plan to, but you can tell he just gives in and can't say no. Of course, it's sticky in that you could say if he has to leave, the answer should be no for everybody, but if he's out in front of people and saying no, that hurts his reputation, which I'm sure he doesn't want. So then what do you do? I feel like it's okay for him to give in to a few people if the overall policy is going to be no, but I guess the bottom line remains that whoever is "in charge," needs to make sure everybody's sticking to the same story. They'll have way less confusion on their hands.
The thing in LA was weird to me, too; if Adam thinks it's safe, he's a big boy. Let him go.
I just got back home a bit ago and I'm too jittery to sleep for some reason.
I'm not sure what I can post at this time that hasn't been said, but for now, I'll just mention that I had been downstairs before the onslaught of fangirls came rushing down the stairs after the one security guard. I wasn't feeling well and there was no one down there at the time, so it was quiet, then 30 people come rushing downstairs and started the twisted backstage lotto. I finally went back upstairs when the reading in the theater downstairs let out, because if I *were* going to get sick, I didn't want to do it in the middle of everything.
Then later, I went outside and walked across the parking lot just in time to see Adam and the FOUR security people escorting him out to the waiting SUV. One guy was holding a spotlight on Adam as they came out, which seemed so odd at the time, but in retrospect, it was probably so they could see him clearly in case some fan tried something weird- not because he's a diva that needs appropriate mood lighting at all times.
To The Stage, I was standing right behind you when Adam signed for you from the passenger seat. At that point, I didn't think it was appropriate to like, throw a drunken tantrum just to get an autograph on my Chess poster. Well, at least not again.
Hee, Adam moves to LA and now has to be followed by a personal spotlight :P
Skittles, I looked for you to say goodbye before I left, but couldn't find you. Maybe you were downstairs then. Sorry you weren't feeling well, but at least you got to *see* Adam before he left. Four security guys seems excessive, unless someone's been getting stalkerish on him again. I hope not, but that would explain some of what went down Saturday night.

Yes, I was pretty sure it was you, skittles. Still, I wasn't positive.

Damn.
Wow, four? I mean... he's not that famous. Something probably happened.

Cybele updated her blog last night. Poor Monte.
Great pics! And I think the shirt looks gorgeous on him. I love his sense of style.
But then, I'm one of those "gay guys" who liked the sparkly jeans too.

Adam is probably thanking you for saying that right now considering the number of times we've been harsh on his style in this thread. I do have to admit that even yesterday, though, orangeskittles and I couldn't walk past the Minskoff Theatre without laughing.

His style now has improved a lot. A whole lot. I think he looks great. That shirt wasn't terrible, but what was on it?
Flowers or something.
I can't find my ticket stub from Saturday night. I know it's stupid, because it's impractical to be a total packrat, but I like saving that kind of stuff, so I'm bummed out. *hunts for*
I read Cybele's blog. Yikes. Poor kid.
I just uploaded one of Angela's videos from the concert and now I don't have time to watch it because I have to go back to school. Damn, I guess I'll just have to wait for 2 hours until I get home. Agh!

Thanks for reminding me em, I forgot where I put my ticket stub too. I think it's in my pocketbook. I love saving ticket stubs for all the shows I go to..I don't know why, but I do.
Eek. What stupid teachers. I work at a daycare/preschool and we have signs in the lunchroom and the classrooms that list out any food restrictions they might have. Some are serious, like allergies and intolerances; others are parents' preferences, like there's a little girl that's being raised vegetarian, so they don't serve her meat. I don't understand how teachers could be so incredibly dense about this. I mean, yes, technically, it's an inconvenience to have to buy soy milk or feed them another snack when the rest of the class is having Cheez-its, but this isn't some overzealous parent thing; there are serious health consequences involved. I don't understand how some of these places stay open in this day and age if they're so incredibly careless.
/rant about the state of childcare that probably only I care about
Anyway, I uploaded my pictures onto my computer, but I have to go to class, so I can't get any of them online yet.
And the 4 security guards...only one of them was technically his, the others were just the ones that worked for the theater, so I guess it made them feel more important to make a big dramatic exit like that. Adam was probably a bit higher up on the "celebrity"/rabid fanbase scale than they were used to having.
It's weird, because no matter how much you hear about the growing awareness, there are still so many cases of people who should be MOST aware being terribly lax. I mean, cases of severe food allergies in young kids are on the rise, so teachers of all people should be very careful. I think sometimes the problem lies in the fact that people STILL hear about a milk allergy and go "oh, so you're lactose intolerant, right? Me too; sometimes if I eat ice cream, I get a stomach ache," and they think it's all the same, when in fact you're like "no, sorry, I could die."
My parents think that Adam's disclosure of his desire for bootlegs in that interview from a while back means he and Larry are working with the feds to arrest his deviant little fans. *rolls eyes*
Couldn't post sooner due to internet issues at home. I have nothing much to add either, except in addition to the two screamee meemee's in the 2nd row, next to them was a constant candy wrapper crackling going on behind me. That always gets on my last nerve.
I was there for a good portion of sound check and as I listened, it hit me just how much I had missed hearing Adam. Up until then I hadn't realized it. So glad I was finally able to make it to one of these. I think it's the longest I've gone without seeing him.
Nice seeing you ladies the other night!

Ugh, I know! I kept turning around to glare at the candy wrapper girl. She spent the entire show looking down and texting people, as far as I could tell. Not once did I notice her looking up at the stage.
Nice to see you, too!

I didn't hear the candy wrapper girl, but instead I heard someone singing along to Beautiful Song and I'm With You. I'm glad that some other people actually knew his solo music, but I paid to hear him sing, not some girl behind me.
It was great to meet you too, bdwaygirl!

That must have been annoying. There were a few girls behind me talking about how they were going to faint when he walked onto the stage. "Will you catch me?! OMGZ WHAT TIME IS IT? One after 8? HE'S LATE!!!" At least it was before the show and not during.
ETA: Lexi, the same exact situation was happening behind me. They were singing Beautiful SOng and I was about to say something, but they finally stopped 3/4 of the way through.
I uploaded the pics I took from the concert (one is set as my avatar, so you can take a look at that one) but photobucket is blocked on my school computer, so i'll post them later.
Singers-along are my LEAST favorite. *beats*
