Allie, it's the two of us, against the 20 others in this thread. I figured we had to start making our voices loud.
I love the Olympics! I waste so much time watching random sports for those 2 weeks.

The Summer Olympics > The Winter Olympics
I like to watch the swimming and horseback riding
I like swimming and gymnastics from the summer and figure skating from the winter.
Same with me Fantabulous.
I like the summer Olympics better, but the skating stuff can be fun to watch sometimes.
Michelle Kwan is going to the Olympics again? Right? That's crazy.
I watch here and there. I just like the "team spirit" of "you guys are going down."
I think it's her last time, isn't it?
Yea, Michelle Kwan is going again. She couldn't compete during Nationals because of some injury, but she petitioned the Olympic Committee for a spot on the team and they said yes.
The other two U.S. women are Sasha Cohen and Kimmie Meissner.
I like gymnastics and ice skating the best, but I find myself watching things I would usually not give the time of day to when Olympic fever kicks in! The winter stuff gets a little repetitive because so much of it is just "Who can get to the bottom of this frozen hill fastest?!"

Olympics is the only time I watch the CBC. It's the best station for all the activities.
I knew I shouldn't look at that Goodbye Love thread on the main board, but I did anyway. It kills me how these same three or four people have to come and sh*t all over anything about the movie every single time. It's like the want to make sure that no one gets to enjoy anything about it, since they didn't.
I wish they would just drop it already. They have to come in every. single. time. and keep rehashing it.
yeah ... I'm not gonna let them ruin it for me!! I can't wait, I can't wait! :)

That's exactly the sentiment I expressed a couple of pages ago, Chloe. It's really unfortunate that a select few feel the need to broadcast the fact that they didn't care for the film for months.
The people who just come in and go "it was bad" are just as awful.
*nods*
It's as though they think they have been appointed to piss on everyone else's cornflakes. What really gets me is that because they didn't like the movie, they think anyone who professes their enjoyment of it is lying/in denial. Don't get me wrong, I know the movie had its flaws, but to me the things it got right were so good and so powerful that they more than made up for the imperfections.
If I were to make a Rentsecret post, it would be that some self-described Rentheads can't see that Jonathan Larson was basically a romantic with a lot of sentiment, and what they really can't forgive Columbus for is his failure to obscure that more. I believe that Larson would have felt more comfortable with Columbus than any of the other directors people like to claim would have done a better job.
I think a lot of the problem is that they keep ranting and raving about how wrong he was.
Would they have made a better movie?
And how exactly do they know, what's right or wrong. It either works for you or it doesn't. It doesn't mean that it's the same for everyone else.

I'm debating whether to post Adam's book cover as a Rent Secret, even though it isn't a secret, lol.
And I hate how a lot of people feel that since they disliked the movie, everyone else HAS to dislike it also. The movie had its flaws yes, but they weren't as bad as everyone made them out to be.
Also - who's to say Spike Lee would have made this amazing movie they're all envisioning? I'm sorry, but Justin Timberlake would not have cut it for me.
