The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part five

Posted: 2/5/06 at 11:48pmZyla, it's been a long time since I looked at The Waste Land, but another professor I had made a performance out of reading it to us, singing the quotations from German lieder and using different voices for the different characters. It's quite a monumental work.

hahahaa, I just got into another Rentsecret snit! Someone says I should stop sitting around at my computer all day wishing I could spend a split second with Adam because SHE'S met him. *dies laughing*
I really enjoyed The Waste Land.

Posted: 2/5/06 at 11:52pmWait, isn't that what we're all doing? Why would they want us to stop? It's fun.

Posted: 2/5/06 at 11:53pmThat sounds amazing. I've only read it, but always imagined how it might sound performed.

Posted: 2/5/06 at 11:55pmAre any of you the anonymous commenters on the Adam/gym rentsecrets post? I just wanted to say that I'm sorry if I sounded overly civil to the girl, but I figured that it never hurts to be nice considering there's always a slim possibility that she's telling the truth. Her comment about how everyone is just jealous of her was out of line, though (and came after I'd already posted).

"The Hollow Men" by T.S. Eliot is one of my favorite poems. I also really liked "The Waste Land."
Astonishing feat, Katt! I wonder what the fastest ascent to Legend-dom has been.

Posted: 2/6/06 at 12:01amWell, I can see why she'd get upset, because some people were dissing her pretty badly. She did get out of line, though, and her kind of secret sounds a little like bragging. On the other hand, this kind of dispute is just going to discourage people from posting anything really interesting over there.

Sweetsiren, I get chills thinking of "The Hollow Men" whenever anyone mentions Guy Fawkes Day. (And we all know it comes up in conversation so often *rolls eyes*).
And can't forget J. Alfred Prufrock...anyone wanna start a T.S. Eliot thread? Or bring him up on the "Serious Discussion of the Day", wherever that went?
Congratulations, Katt! I can barely believe I'm an understudy after only one week. Damn addictive site.

I don't think it's discouraging, because the submissions are totally anonymous.
But this is the kind of being made fun of that I really, truly just laugh at.

Posted: 2/6/06 at 12:11amOkay, I just attempted to stop the drama (likely to no avail) on that post and asked for more details on the situation. I'm curious to see how far her imagination can take this.

But it's funny because you've said it before yourself. She thought she really got you.

Posted: 2/6/06 at 12:14amYeah, parting_gift is me. I don't know -- like Fantab, I guess, I'm just curious to see how far this girl is really going to take this. I'm 99% sure she's lying, but if she really is telling the truth, I guess it's interesting. If not, I'd just like to see how far she can take her lies without mixing her stories up.
