Morning all -
You made my morning with the pot and kettle. I appreciate all the deep thought that went into the decision making. :)

Posted: 1/29/06 at 10:50amOkay, I just wanted to point out that the OBCR >>> than the movie soundtrack. After listening to the movie soundtrack for months on end, I've reverted back to the OBCR, and it's just so much better. Lol, sorry for the randomness.

Hmmm, I kind of disagree. Until I had heard the cast recording, I thought the OBCR was amazing. But after hearing the pure power of the recording, I can't help but almost hear the "weakness" of the sound of the OBCR. As most have said, it's just very tinny and I loved the instrumentals on the cast recording. When I wake up and decide I want to listen to Rent, it's always interesting to see which I decide to listen to.

Posted: 1/29/06 at 10:56amI can see what you mean. It's not that I don't like the movie soundtrack, I've listened to it non-stop until now. And in comparison, I think a lot of songs are much more powerful on the soundtrack than the OBCR. But I guess I just appreciate all the extra songs, and the extra things that are on the OBCR.
Adam Pascal - Thread #5!#857
Posted: 1/29/06 at 10:58amYea, that I completely agree with.
Adam Pascal - Thread #5!#858
Posted: 1/29/06 at 10:59amI've been listening to the movie soundtrack way more lately. Originally, I felt sort of like a traitor. I think Adam sounds older and more mature, first off. And the orchestrations are so. much. better. I return to the OBCR and it *does* sound like Adam says it sounds -- tinny and blah. I always liked that the soundtrack sounded like the show does, live -- which the OBCR can't claim to have the power to do. The one thing that I like, obviously, about the OBCR more than the original is that it's more comprehensive. Everything's there. But sound-wise, soundtrack.

I guess that's a good way to put it...more comprehensive.
Lol, I had a crazy dream last night. I was at Anthony's booksigning, and everyone was somehow crowding in front of me, and in the process I dropped everything I wanted Anthony to sign and couldn't find it. Then I ended up being the last one in line and I didn't have anything for him to sign, and I felt like an idiot.

I don't remember my dream last night. My sleep was interrupted by my roommate who came in at 5 am.
Adam Pascal - Thread #5!#861
Posted: 1/29/06 at 11:13amI don't remember mine, either. I did as soon as I woke up at first, but I snoozed my alarm, and when I got up for real, I forgot it.

Posted: 1/29/06 at 11:14amOh, you have to love roommates!
Adam Pascal - Thread #5!#863
Posted: 1/29/06 at 11:17amCan't you tell I love mine? I thought I was making that quite clear. *snicker*
Adam Pascal - Thread #5!#864
Posted: 1/29/06 at 11:21amI can tell...lol. I'm lucky I have a single this year. But last year I had two roommates, and that was quite terrible.

Morning, everyone.
I pretty much agree with what's been said about the movie soundtrack vs. OBCR. I generally prefer the vocals and production on the soundtrack, but I miss some of the stuff that's on the OBCR, especially "Happy New Year" and the extra bits in "You'll See."
I wish I didn't remember the dream I had last night. It was really disturbing, and I blame it on going to bed with an upset stomach.
Adam Pascal - Thread #5!#867
Posted: 1/29/06 at 11:52amI go back and forth between the movie and the OBCR. I honestly don't like Daphne's voice, so for songs like "Light My Candle," "I Should Tell You," etc. I tend to listen to the movie soundtrack. I happen to like Rosario's voice a lot.

Okay, time to catch up:
1. Pot/Kettle love is amazing. I almost choked on a icecube when I saw it. It made my morning/lunchtime.
2. Angelina Jolie was in my dream. I was at some dinner party and she was extremely nice. She reminded me alot of myself. And...she signed the screen of my laptop and then typed a message to finish the autograph. Oh, and it was in a reply box on here.
3. I love them both. The OBCR has more songs verses the soundtrack. But...I think I prefer the soundtrack. It's just alive with power and sound. It doesn't matter. I have both so I could alternate listening to them. The soundtrack doesn't have one of my favorite lines: "That's shaken, not stirred." XD I already love the reference, but the way he says it makes me smile. Actually, I think alot of the scene makes me happy.
